Regine and Francois must be used to guests arriving with a sort of "WTAF" expression if they have driven round Soulac first. The front is currently blighted by "Le Signal", a totally smashed up 50 year old building dominating the sea front, a victim of climate change and dune erosion which should finally be demolished next year after a lengthy legal battle. In late September the town had a distinctly fin-de-siècle feel with loads of party memories no doubt held within the Edwardian architecture.
However, maybe those challenges mean Regine and Francois try that bit harder. They are real pros - very experienced, having run their previous hotel in Begles, near Bordeaux. The welcome was a little prescriptive as others have commented but as they live off site that is probably to be expected. The breakfast was the best we experienced on our week's holiday in the area, the rooms were spotless and the view was excellent - especially if you look left! They deserve every success.More
