Unfortunately we could only stay 2 nights but that really wasnt enough, from the moment we arrived everything was perfect. The design of the hotel is really something amazing, the sense of exclusivity and privacy matched with friendly and personal service is a dream come true and then on top of all that the food and the views are second to none. There are only 6 (huge) rooms and we never even worked out where the other 5 were it is so well designed. I assume all have a similar view which is breathtaking, with a huge terrace area with hammock and chairs. Big, very comfortable beds (i havent slept that well for a long time!!) and a shower that has a door you can open out to admire the view while feeling like you are showering outside. The food was spot on every time we ate, the ceviche was the best weve ever had and when we asked for ceviche for breakfast they were happy to accommodate us. Food is very well priced for the quality. The infinity pool makes you feel like you are on top of the world and with only 6 rooms everything is designed for space for 12 people so it is never crowded. Everything is extremely well maintained. The service could not have been better, professional but not stuffy and friendly but not intruding. Adam, simon, sheilyn (spelling?!) and Lalo deserve a special mention. We did the beach trip one day (about 20 mins drive in their comfortable car) which is free of charge and we had a huge beach all to ourselves, they even include water, towels, chairs and an umbrella. They also offer free transfers to and from the highway on arrival and departure. I honestly cant recommend it enough, its not cheap but it is worth every penny and i would definitely say 2 nights is not enough. Dont bother looking anywhere else, book this one! Highly highly recommended!

Dear Charlie,
greetings from all of us here at Kura in wild southern Costa Rica. Yes, you are right, two days were NOT enough. We are glad you are thinking about coming back and recommending us to your friends and telling everybody to "stop looking". Thank you for the raving reviews of the bedding, the shower experience, the food, the pool and the service. You are right when you say that the Kura experience is not cheap and that there are "seemingly" better deals out there, but in the end our guests agree that the Kura Experience was totally worth it. We look forward to having you back soon. Salduos.

If you are looking for the most amazing hotel experience then look no further than Kura. The impeccable service begins as soon as you arrive, whether you rented a car to get there or arranged for a car to pick you up, you are greeted by the staff with smiling faces, cool towels and delicious beverages. Everyone at Kura is beyond friendly and helpful with anything and everything you could need.
The view from the pool, your room, and even the bathrooms are literally breathtaking. We went during the beginning of the rainy season and we are so happy that we did. The storms are just as beautiful as the sunny days. One of our favorite things was getting to watch the storms roll in. At dinner you can listen to the rain and watch the lightning across the mountain all while enjoying some of the most delicious food you imagine. You get the best of both worlds when you stay at Kura, you get the views from the mountain and the availability of the beach (they offer daily shuttles to the beach and back). If you are looking for a low key relaxing getaway Kura is it, with only 6 villas the hotel will never be crowded and your drink will always be full. If you want adventure and a taste of the rain forest Kura can set that up for you, anything from Waterfall rapelling to snorkeling to paddle boarding in mangroves. Olivia was amazing and worked with us for weeks planning and booking all of the activities my husband and I wanted to do.
Everyday we were there we were able to experience something new. The staff is knowledge about the rain forest around them from the plants to the insects to the wildlife.
The rooms are the most breathtaking of it all. Every room has its own private balcony where the doors open out to the rain forest, including a the door to the shower. The bed is the most comfortable bed we have had the pleasure of sleeping in.
All I can say is that it is more beautiful than the pictures, the staff (lley, Adam, Rodrigo, Magda, Shading, Yancy, Olivia and Simon) are nicer than you can imagine, and the experience you will have is one that you will never forget.

Room Tip: all rooms are awesome

We spent four nights of our honeymoon here. We rented a car from nayara springs and traveled down to uvita and up the gravel road. It was the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed. While we were there, there were 2-4 other guests staying at the hotel, which was wonderful because we were able to get to know the staff who were always willing to answer questions and share stories and knowledge about Costa Rica. While there, we went to the private beach area two days, which was beautiful. We also spent time on our personal porch using the binoculars that were provided to look at the many butterflies and birds that were always around. When we went to the beach, There was no one else on the beach and we walked probably a mile down the beach without seeing anyone. We also went on a boat ride to Corcovado with a tour that they set up. That was very interesting and we were able to see a lot of animals and different plants. Every meal was wonderful and an experience. Every drink was wonderful. We wish we were there now.

The word "boutique" is loosely used by many hotel chains and their under the radar properties- Kura, however, is the gold standard by which those places should be measured.

After driving up the steep road- we're still adventurous after all these years- we were greeted by Adam and given a cool towel for our hands and face- a small but very appreciated token of welcome- check in was seamless and un-rushed. Felt like being welcomed to someone's home after a long journey.

Aside from the beauty of the location, the amazing architecture and the white-glove service, it must be said that the "small" things are what makes Kura OUTSTANDING -
Rodrigo- letting us know he can work with us to accommodate meal requests- or just surprise us with his far superior version of the roadside mango ceviche I had tried on the way to Kura- I had mentioned how much I had loved this new discovery earlier in the day.

Adam, Simone, and Sheiryn-waiting for us at 6am for our Corcovado excursion with fresh baked banana bread, fruit and coffee for our trip down the side of the mountain.

Lalo, Isidro, for patiently taking us up and down to Uvita- and ever thoughtful Adam, handing us towels cold water and a local phone to use on our excursion to the Whales Tail should we need to return early- unbelievable!

We were given a tour of the greenhouse and saw where our food was coming from-we forget the name of the young man who showed us along with Simone- but again sincere enthusiasm and knowledge made even that special!

Which brings us to the magic that Jay and Simone lent to the overall experience with their enthusiasm for nature and cocktails, wine and fresh juices and hospitality! As the pool area attendants they made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay at all times, even adjusting our preference for music or conveying our food preferences to the right people!

We only had two wishes one is to have stayed longer and two is to have met the owners to personally thank them for welcoming us their paradise and making our anniversary perfect!

We are so glad we decided to celebrate our 20 year anniversary here, it will forever be a treasured memory!
