Stand-up paddle boarding with Gibran and Adrianne was fantastic. Hard to imagine a better setting for learning this emerging sport. The offshore view of coastal Uvita makes an incredible backdrop and the bay is protected by the beach's famed "whale's tail," so the water is fairly calm. Gibran and Adrianne were great instructors and a very cool couple. They brought along fresh pineapple and plenty of agua to go around, as well as snorkeling gear. The morning we went my wife spotted a sea turtle swimming alongside her board and a few minutes later a stingray passed right beneath mine. If you're the type of person who thinks learning to stand-up paddle board would be fun, then you're probably also the type of person who will get the hang of it pretty quickly. But you'll still fall sometime during the couple hours that you're on the water. So caution to my fellow gringos: bring extra sunblock. We wish we had. All in all, it was a great way to start off our day, and we highly recommend Bodhi Surf.
