This hotel is just gorgeous. The little villas are self contained with a kitchenette, walk in wardrobe, outside shower and a kitchenette and all of them have a view through the rainforest to the ocean. The service is excellent and the breakfast, while not mind blowing was very good. Especially the bread, bread is relatively awful in Costa Rica so it was a very pleasant surprise at TikiVillas. Don't miss the beautiful and deceptively large infinitely pool that we shared with an adorable neon yellow frog. Absolutely lovely place, but be warned if you are visiting, there is a very steep driveway and staircase up to the lobby so if you have mobility issues this might be a problem. They were doing some construction to eliminate this when I visited (October 2013) so it might not be a problem anymore.

We could not have picked a better location to stay for our first visit to Costa Rica. The location is everything you see on the Tiki Villas web site and then some. The staff is fantastic and truly go out of their way to make your stay and visit t Costa Rica a memorable experience.

Room Tip: We rented unit # 3 and it has an absolutely gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean along with an amazing view of the mountains and their rain forests. The Sun coming up behind the mountains offers some amazing photo ops. The wildlife is wonderful. The Howler Monkey start each day and end each evening by telling all the members of their troupe where their at. The Toucans mass early and late. sometimes up to six or more cavorting through the trees.

Tikivillas Rainforest Lodge is a small, boutique, romantic place to stay. It offers five self-standing villas, and with its location up the hill it gave us splendid views over Pacific ocean. The villa we stayed was the most upper one. From its balcony we were able to observe and photograph the plentiful birdlife that lives in the lush gardens. Staff, small in number but great at personal attention, was very helpful with ideas about what to visit. The breakfast is served in the main building, that also doubles as a reception and a bar, and has one of the most attractive infinity pools I have seen. All of the lodge was nicely landscaped. New approach road (less steep then the original one), larger parking area, and the planned addition of an on-site restaurant will further increase the attraction of this lodge.

Room Tip: Villa #3 is upper most with a view and privacy.

This is a small boutique hotel with total 5 rooms. But the place was very clean with really hospitable staff. They really went out of their way to help us plan our day and give us advice on what to be careful about. Food was amaaazing too - my wife got recepies from them for everything we ate.

Location is another thing we loved about the place - right in the middle of a rainforest with amazing view of the ocean - and since you are in a rainforest, you might get woken up by howler monkeys at 5 am ;)

We stayed for two weeks and we loved TikiVillas . The owners were very helpful via emails and helped us with planning before we started the trip. We met with Thomas several times at TikiVillas.
We agree with all the positive comments on T.A. The staff are amazing Pablo is excellent and Gary and all are very good as well.

From the moment we arrived with a welcome cocktail the service was excellent .Every day we were asked if everything was fine. They recommended activities and made arrangements with the tour company and recommended local restaurants however we found that the restaurant Jungle Blue on site was the best.

All five of the bungalows had great views of the ocean and the mountains however we were lucky to have # 3 that was the highest and had in our opinion the most private location ,but if you cannot have # 3 all are very good.

All seem similar inside. Large with one king and a queen bed .The whole front french doors open up to the covered balcony with stunning views of the Pacific in front and the mountains to the rear. The Toucans in the morning and evening were seen every day and you could hear the howler monkeys at the same times. We had the AC on at night.

The kitchen had a small fridge and two element stove as well as utensils ,sink, coffee maker with tasty coffee. The bathrooms we found excellent with all tilled and american standard as well as an indoor shower or the outdoor ( the one that we preferred as you can hear the birds and nature and at the same time be very private).Off the bathroom was a large area with lots of room for luggage and racks for hanging clothing and a safe .

Pablo one day asked us if we would like to come with him and another staff on a short hike to small waterfall and a few of us went along and besides the waterfall we were able to see the howler monkeys.

We went to three restaurants recommended by T.A in Uvita and area but found to our amazement that Jungle Blue on site was the best. Being only five villas it was never crowded , had the best service, ambiance and excellent food.
We tried Tiki Tropical Salad , Pejbaye and Camote cream soup as starters all excellent . Dinner had many options we had the Catch of the day Tiki Style excellent and the Coconut Shrimp,Shrimp in Garlic, Chicken dishes very good. Deserts we tried are all very tasty.
At lunch snacks and sandwiches were found to be excellent, try the Chicken Wrap Sandwich. It's a juicy boneless chicken breast with amazing sautéed vegetables in a flour tortilla . I bet you will be back for the same the next day at lunch the wrap cost $9. We found the prices reasonable.
Lastly the breakfast included with your stay had several options very good coffee and was always started with fresh fruit and was very tasty.

We walked to the beach just down hill and had several walks on this amazing beach that was not crowded . We preferred the infinity pool on site that at times we had the pool all to ourselves to look at the Pacific and here the surf.

Some people have comments about hearing the traffic , you can hear it but it never bothered us.

You do find at times that in CR you do need a 4X4 and we did rent a 4X4 and found the road easy after the first time no problem getting to the TikiVillas parking lot. In CR the speed limit is usually 80Km per hour and why rush .

In our view this is the best place we have ever stayed at for value and all of the reasons we have said. Remember we do not like large hotels or all inclusive resorts so do not expect that here.

If we ever went back to the area we would definitely stay at TikiVllas Rainforest Lodge.

Room Tip: all are good # 3 is the highest and most private
