We did the combo whale and dolphin tour on 24th January. We were incredibly lucky and saw 4 humpbacks including a baby and were able to spend a bit of time with them. It was one of the highlights of our whole trip and was amazing.

In terms of the trip, we felt like the trip was fairly expensive, it took a long time for us to get out on the water and were only on the water for probably 2.5 hours. We had to pay for parking on top of paying $450 dollars to the company as there were 5 of us who in we hadn’t been told about and should be included in the price. The food wasn’t great and seemed a bit unnecessary on a short trip and for $90 per person a soggy sandwich was a bit disappointing, although the fruit was good. It seemed like there were quite a few companies which followed the whales, then snorkelled for a bit and then looked at a cave and they were all following the same route. It is branded a whale and dolphin watching tour so it might have been good to spend more time doing that; although we were lucky and saw the whales early I’m on the trip and I think if there had been no sightings it might be good to do other activities. I think the marine park is well regulated so there are a lot of rules we were told like wearing life jackets all the time on the boat, life jackets whilst snorkelling and the time with the whales is limited which is good if that reduces the impact on them. Overall- we had an incredible experience with the whales but there might be things about the running of the tour which would improve it.

We booked a half day inshore fishing excursion with Pena and Dean and just had a terrific result. Caught a blackfin tuna, Hooked up with 3 mahi - brought in two; caught two yellowfin tuna. These two guys were a lot of fun and were very enthusiastic about what was going on. One of the best guided fishing trips I ever had! We ate well on our vacation from this trip. We also ended up taking a whale watching trip. I've been on those in Hawaii, Alaska and Maine and this was an excellent one! Axel was our guide and he was very knowledgeable, professional and entertaining. We got to see 4 whales and the group with 2 females and a baby whale were a sight I've never seen before at such a close-up distance. We got some excellent photos and videos from our group of gour. I would highly recommend this company if you are anywhere close to Uvita.

No whales today, but some dolphins and birds. Beautiful scenery and different way to see this country. Knowledgeable, friendly guide. Snorkeling was fun and very refreshing. Enjoyed our day.

I went on the whale & dolphin combo tour with Bahia Aventura on 12/01/2020 in the morning, our guide was Axel. The tour departed punctually and Axel gave us a great briefing about the tour and the times as well as safety instructions. We had a short walk to the Marino Ballena NP and there boarded the boat. We had a great time on the boat with the breeze and we saw plenty of dolphins and also we were lucky enough to catch a humpbacked whale! The complimentary food was basic but tasty, and my only criticism was that the snorkelling stop felt too brief - it's a very nice spot so if more time could be devoted to the snorkelling I think it'd make the tour even more excellent. But highly recommended anyway!!!

What an amazing adventure; from the humpback whale, to the dolphins following our boat and not to mention the wonders of Corcovado National Park! A crocodile swam out to sea from the river as we were shoving off. I knew that we were in good hands when observing our captain so skillfully negotiate the boat through the breaking surf. Our crew were very attentive, professional and yet very good natured as well! Our small group had Reimer as our guide, and he was amazing at finding wildlife (spider monkeys, drogans, Jesus Christ lizards, toucans to name a few...and he went above and beyond to find scarlet macaws...no worries Reimer - we found plenty at a refuge by Hermosa beach!). He (and the rest of the crew) assisted us on and off of the boat as well as across a knee deep stream, and after the tour he even showed us the resident (to Uvita) sloths!! The lunch that the crew packed in was delicious. We felt very safe, pampered, and fortunate to have the crew we had that helped make memories for us that we will cherish for years to come!
