“Excellent serenity, superb food and good rooms”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

It is a very nice and calm place with well maintained rooms. The food quality and variety is vey good. The view of the valley from the hotel patio where food is served is breathtaking esp during monsoons with thick cloud covering. A must try once recommended if it suits your budget. Its a bit costly and over price in comparison to other choices available. But as its said that the best comes with its own baggage.

The solitaire rooms are outstanding . They are located in a separate and isolated private apartment which appears to be the personal bungalow of the owners. They are however fairly expensive by Mahabaleshwar standards .The Tiffany in which we stayed had a private jacuzzi and an outdoor glass room. Two of the other solitaire rooms have an indoor swimming pool.! The children truly had a blast .
We had earlier booked the valley suite but found it to be very basic and even lacking an Ac. It had an old air cooler . Not something which can be considered as memorable . On checking out the solitaire rooms we immediately upgraded ourselves.
The food was also fabulous .

I chose Mahabaleshwar for a short trip to be away from the hustle bustle of Mumbai. I short listed on ramsukh after an internet research as I found it to be away from city in peace and quiet in Mahabaleshwar. I booked a room via Mumbai office on phone and picked a heritage suite a month before my travel. I was misled by the guy on the choice for the 'best view possible' room. I re realized that once I reached ramsukh resort. Went by bus without hassles. A taxi gets you to ramsukh if u don't have your car from the last bus stop for 300rs fixed. Taxi drivers were courteous too. Once I reached check in was quick. Guy at the reception was friendly and sent a house keeping staff who guided us to the room in a golf buggy. Room was fabulous only thing was the view was cut and we found the other room of similar tariff was better equipped. We got our room changed without hassles and the staff was very co operative. The view from the other room was breath taking.
The huge property is superbly maintained and you actually can appreciate their effort in this. The games room was decently maintained not flawless but decent.
On the food part, lunch is a thali lunch followed by ice cream which is decent and heaven if you enjoy thali lunch. Breakfast and dinner has good variety. Hi tea which I didn't find included in other hotel facilities is also very good. Tea was amazing. You can sense that they strive for quality and they do reach that quality in some while in some they still fall short.
The other highlight not found in other hotels was the jungle walk taken daily at 7 am , the housie game played daily, some additional program as we had karaoke and a professional juggler performing some great feats. Discotheque was ok not run by a professional but decent. I sensed that system was djing enabled and just had fader being used. A new movie is shown though Hindi every afternoon. A single person handles the activities and does a so so job.
Swimming pool was decent and clean. Could not check the other rooms and wanted to see solitaires. Toiletries were high quality. Rooms were clean and tidy. You get a feeling that the place is old but well maintained.
Now the more negative part. It is close to nature. It is so close to nature that there are honey bees and other flying insects which flock the place in the evenings. We had 3 literally 3 lizards in the bathroom when we returned after dinner. Yeah in the elite classic suite as they named the room. I found it really creepy as it's a lapse in sanitation if such things are happening even in the suites. I don't like getting so close to the nature. I did mention this in their feedback as well. The housekeeping was prompt to the call and did manage to get rid of one of them and bothered least about the other hidden ones.
To summarize,
Don't get me biased but it's heaven ,yes heaven for people from Gujarat and Rajasthan , absolutely a home away from home with a view. Good for couples with kids...lot of activities for kids. They have trampolines for kids below 10. Calm and serene place with a superb view if room well chosen. They do try to go that extra mile in hospitality and quality and fairly succeed in doing it. Food is decent and has Jain options and non spicy option. But don't expect a great deal out of it. Has shuttle option to go to the city twice a day. U just hear birds chirping melodiously and even a few exotic birds for bird lovers. It's location is such that you feel the greatest part of mahabaleshwar, the hills and valley is right in front of you.It does justice to your time spent there and does make you feel to go back there again. This is why I felt straying on the positive side.

Ramsukh resort is a haven of comfort on the highest level in the quaint town of Mahabaleshwar. There is a picturesque view from the terrace, (where the restaurant is), of the hilly area around interspersed with clouds and a perfect place to wind down and recharge one's batteries.

Parking is not a problem but the drivers' quarters are rather expensive.

The staff is very accommodating, cooperative, polite and friendly. They do try their best to assure that your stay is great. They do listen and act promptly - great service.

Though the food is vegetarian and spicy, there is a special preparation of food which is less or almost non-spicy if required. The variety of food is also very good. A wholesome breakfast with cereals, fruits, and Indian cuisine like poha, etc, is available. Then there is Indian (mostly Gujarati) fare for lunch and for dinner there is other Indian along with Western cuisine (pasta etc).

The rooms are nice. But not all are rooms with a view. The Valley deluxe or suite rooms have great views of the hills and the pool too, but not the Forest rooms - which only have an enclosed garden view with just a little sky visible. Double-check with the staff on whether the Valley rooms or those with a good view, are available. It is possible they are not being allotted due to renovation/other work being carried out. Except for the rooms of higher categories like suites, most rooms do not have an aircon (as it is mostly not necessary - given the lovely cool weather)

It is just a less-than-10 min walk down from the hotel lobby to Panchganga temple below. It is also very conveniently situated to visit Arthur Seat, Echo point, Tiger point, and that lot with the ride there taking around 20 min. It is a half an hour drive to the market and a bit longer to Sunset points, etc. If needed, the hotel has a shuttle bus too which leaves at 10am returning at around 1pm and later does another round in the afternoon or evening too - 3 to 6pm. Nearby there are vegetable farms with strawberry-cream to stop for - while on the move.

The Spa experience is excellent and there is a Jacuzzi too which can be paid for separately, and used, as and when one wishes.

There are activities or entertainment arranged in-house for those wanting to relax like movies and a discotheque. There are games like table tennis, pool table, carrom, chess and badminton (in the open air) that one can play. In the lobby, there is a little mini library. Bingo, other games and music programmes are arranged too. If the musician does not turn up, there is a karaoke system and guests have a great time singing and entertaining themselves!

There are jungle walks early in the morning - a very refreshing start to the day.......but let me clarify that there is a deadline within which the walk needs to be completed by the lady guide so more than walk - it is almost a jungle jog or jungle run, instead :)

There are also night safaris but the staff is honest and do let one know whether there are any chances of animals being visible or not, and whether this ride is worth the time and money spent.

The garden is very well-maintained and if nothing else, it is a pleasure to walk around the hotel premises themselves, among the beautiful flower beds and shady trees equipped with tables, chairs and swings dangling from some trees. As the resort premises are a hilly area, just walking around them is also a great workout. Or, help your self to a book, settle under a large, shady and cool tree on a swing......

So Ramsukh is a great way to chill

Rejuvenating among the forests, flowers and the hill!

Room Tip: Valley rooms offer view of the valleys/hills and/or the pool. If view is not important for you, only...

Our stay at the Ramsukh Resort was very nice. The service was very good. Staff were very polite and coperative. The hotel was well maintained and away from the hustle bustle. Only wish the bed was a little bigger in size as it was a little uncomfortable for us to sleep along with our 3 year old child.
