Ramsukh Resorts & Spa
Ranked #13 of 53 Hotels in Mahabaleshwar
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Ramsukh is a gem of a resort hidden away from the hustle-bustle of Mahabaleshwar, although getting to it along the narrow road may sometimes test your nerves.

Pros:
-Great rooms
-Wonderful location
-excellent service
-family activities like housie, songs, etc. every night

Cons:
-Food gets repetitive if you are staying over 2 days

Room Tip: Try the new Forest Heritage Villas, they are awesome....

Visited this property in mahabaleshwar from 16 - 18 Dec. Weather was excellent so as the view from resort. Had a pleasant stay and staff greets you very nicely. Go for Valley Suite which has amazing view of valley. If you have your own CAR then roam around market ( 6-10 ) kms from hotel. Don't forget to visit Temple just outside of hotel.

Would definitely recommend this hotel for all seasons.

Room Tip: Valley Suite from B building

We visited Mahableshwar from 1-3rd Sept this year and it was definitely a pleasant stay at Ramsukh resorts especially during the monsoon season. The overall layout of the resort and proximity right next to the valley is fantastic. We had rented the Valley Deluxe room on the 2nd floor and had an excellent view of the valley and surrounding mountains right from our balcony step.

The resort is equipped with amenities like pool(too cold when we were there), Jacuzzi, games like TT, Carrom, spa, in-house restaurant, which we took advantage of due to limited visitors at that time. Also the resort provides movie screening and other activities you would hardly need to go out for anything. With all meals included, the resort is a good package and you should definitely at least consider taking the breakfast package for having a filling morning meal. On the other hand, if you do plan to eat at the in-house restaurant outside of your stay package .... you might need to shell out some more bucks (which I thought was fairly expensive)

The rooms were big and well maintained ... cleanliness was good. The bathroom was equally large, and clean which might be a foremost criteria for many visitors. Overall the layout of the room, view from the balcony made our stay even more memorable.

Always prefer or plan for a room on the higher floors as I've read that the ground floor rooms might have an obstructed view by trees just in front of your room. The resort is full of greenery which really relaxes you a lot if you have come for a much awaited vacation. The service was excellent and the staff very polite and makes your stay even more comfortable.

Another area where the hotel excels is the food ... though you need to remember it is Pure Veg. The food was delicious and the menu has a variety of dishes starting from soup to desserts. Although you didn’t had an option of alacarte but the buffet menu doesn’t give you much choices to complain.

We just got to enjoy our view on the first day and the other day we were in Mahableshwar the weather was very foggy and it rained all day long. Maybe during a better period, the views would be excellent and would definitely recommend this resort for anyone planning a stay at Mahableshwar

Overall it was a wonderful experience

Hotel has lot of activities for family. Kids are kept busy with activities. Food is also good. BF, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner are included. So no issue of eating outside. Good for groups.

Rooms are old they should renovate. Need to have arrangement for Drivers to stay and have food.

When we checked-in last Saturday morning, we were surprised about all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor on this place. It is a rundown place with too many unclean areas. While people working are nice, it is clear that management has not put any money in updating or maintaining it to even 3star standards.
We stayed in Maharaja suite for 15k per night. When we checked in, I started worrying. Staircase was not updated from it's 1990 tiling and rough walls. The Jacuzi while working and large, had many small tiles missing. The plumbing of Jacuzzi was open and moving... Later on we found out that hot water was available only on request.
Lunch was Thali, which typically we enjoy. The staff was sweet, but completely untrained: food was dropped on the table, multiple times, asking them to clean did not achieve the desired effect, while serving to inside seating, the server placed hand on my daughter's head and at the end the jacket of one server, again while serving, dropped in my kadi bowl. That was the end of the food for me. So we went to Dominos every afternoon for lunch. Do want to mention, all of us love good thali. Must insist all through above, people were sweet, but clearly management had not put any training. Food was no better than INR 100 Thali place.

Dinner time again eager to serve helper, not knowing simple serving manners. Food was ok, again no better than what would be INR 125 buffet.

The next day breakfast was so pitiful in terms of spread and hygiene, that we went drove to Cafe Coffee Day store.

The two box mattresses that were brought were so bad that I took picture for what a 4-star hotel will offer as a paid service.

The spa is probably a better value, good peolple, but again bad infrastructure.

I understand rustic, I understand simple and elegant. But broken plumbing, 15 yrs old mattresses or broken tiles can be rustic. Jacket in kadhi bowl can not be sweet...how ever you market...

Overall, good simple service people, clearly no investment by management in training or upgrading a dilapidated infrastructure. But brochure and website still continues to call it 4-star..

The musical night singers were amazing and was a good surprise.

Room Tip: Try other better places.. If the management does not want to invest, why should you pay it?

Ramsukh resort unlike most other hotel and resorts is located far from the city and market hence you miss at times the easy approachability of the market road. However this is more than compensated for by the serenity of the place. If you are travelling in your own car then it is preferable to stay here. While the rooms are good (the 2BR with 4 occupancy are slightly congested & could be better. Interms of food I would rate Ramsukh within top 3 in Mahabaleshwar. Weightwatchers Beware as there are 4 meals served here. There is an evening entertainment prog (could be skipped). The Kerala Ayurvedic massage in the SPA is relaxing. On your checkout day do not forget to buy strawberries from a wholesaler whose homeshop is just outside the resort. In all Ramsukh is a great property except for its overcharging.

Room Tip: Avoid 2 brs with 4 occupancy

Visited with two other couples. Quite amazed by the location - far away from the market and approach road definitely reminds you scenes from some horror movie. But believe me it is all worth it. Once you reach hotel, and look at the valley, it feels like heaven on earth (provided fog clears up to see the view). Little pricey resort but the food, view and the type of service you receive definitely make up for the premium you pay. Nice clean room with excellent room-service. Responsive and very cooperative staff. Excellent buffet and very testy food. Loved to play table-tennis and other indoor-games.
