Ramsukh Resorts & Spa

When we checked-in last Saturday morning, we were surprised about all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor on this place. It is a rundown place with too many unclean areas. While people working are nice, it is clear that management has not put any money in updating or maintaining it to even 3star standards.
We stayed in Maharaja suite for 15k per night. When we checked in, I started worrying. Staircase was not updated from it's 1990 tiling and rough walls. The Jacuzi while working and large, had many small tiles missing. The plumbing of Jacuzzi was open and moving... Later on we found out that hot water was available only on request.
Lunch was Thali, which typically we enjoy. The staff was sweet, but completely untrained: food was dropped on the table, multiple times, asking them to clean did not achieve the desired effect, while serving to inside seating, the server placed hand on my daughter's head and at the end the jacket of one server, again while serving, dropped in my kadi bowl. That was the end of the food for me. So we went to Dominos every afternoon for lunch. Do want to mention, all of us love good thali. Must insist all through above, people were sweet, but clearly management had not put any training. Food was no better than INR 100 Thali place.

Dinner time again eager to serve helper, not knowing simple serving manners. Food was ok, again no better than what would be INR 125 buffet.

The next day breakfast was so pitiful in terms of spread and hygiene, that we went drove to Cafe Coffee Day store.

The two box mattresses that were brought were so bad that I took picture for what a 4-star hotel will offer as a paid service.

The spa is probably a better value, good peolple, but again bad infrastructure.

I understand rustic, I understand simple and elegant. But broken plumbing, 15 yrs old mattresses or broken tiles can be rustic. Jacket in kadhi bowl can not be sweet...how ever you market...

Overall, good simple service people, clearly no investment by management in training or upgrading a dilapidated infrastructure. But brochure and website still continues to call it 4-star..

The musical night singers were amazing and was a good surprise.

Room Tip: Try other better places.. If the management does not want to invest, why should you pay it?

Ramsukh resort unlike most other hotel and resorts is located far from the city and market hence you miss at times the easy approachability of the market road. However this is more than compensated for by the serenity of the place. If you are travelling in your own car then it is preferable to stay here. While the rooms are good (the 2BR with 4 occupancy are slightly congested & could be better. Interms of food I would rate Ramsukh within top 3 in Mahabaleshwar. Weightwatchers Beware as there are 4 meals served here. There is an evening entertainment prog (could be skipped). The Kerala Ayurvedic massage in the SPA is relaxing. On your checkout day do not forget to buy strawberries from a wholesaler whose homeshop is just outside the resort. In all Ramsukh is a great property except for its overcharging.

Room Tip: Avoid 2 brs with 4 occupancy

Visited with two other couples. Quite amazed by the location - far away from the market and approach road definitely reminds you scenes from some horror movie. But believe me it is all worth it. Once you reach hotel, and look at the valley, it feels like heaven on earth (provided fog clears up to see the view). Little pricey resort but the food, view and the type of service you receive definitely make up for the premium you pay. Nice clean room with excellent room-service. Responsive and very cooperative staff. Excellent buffet and very testy food. Loved to play table-tennis and other indoor-games.

Hi All,

Many might find it not so attractive to visit Mahabaleshwar during monsoons, but believe me you would miss something if you don't. We planned a week before to visit Mahabaleshwar at the peak monsoons. We browsed through many resorts, called handful of them, one of them was Ramsukh Resorts & Spa. These guys took our booking over phone. It was a forest deluxe room with all meals in 6500/-. We drove to Mahabaleshwar and reached around 1 pm (a bit late). The weather was wonderful. It was raining and the roads were covered in fog. As per the telephone booking, we got our room without any hassles. The staff were well behaved and polite. The property was big enough. The room was good, however due to heavy rains, it was a bit damp. The food was an exquisite. We had a wonderful time at this place. There were activities like magic show, housie games. This is the best part, while leaving the next day, the sun came out and the mist cleared off. What a sight from Ramsukh Resorts. The entire valley is visible from this property along with some waterfalls. We would definitely visit this place once again in winters or summers when the sun is out and we would get plenty of daylight to enjoy the beauty of nature from this place. Do visit this place. It is really wonderful.

Room Tip: Try to get the valley view room at the higher floors. When the sun comes out, you would understand w...

Ramsukh, probably the only resort to be situated in the outskirts in the hills of Mahabaleshwar, strats capturing your imagination as you make your way on the road with dense flora on both sides and air keeps on getting cooler. Built in one of the most picturesque land parcel of Mahabaleshwar, it is probably the best destination for betterment of all 5 senses.

Place - Enjoys the distinguishing status of being situated on the hills. It is away from the hustle-bustle of Mahabaleshwar town and hence, is a perfect place to relax your body and mind. Very peaceful overlooking the strawberry plantation on one side, the famous Mahabaleshwar temple on the other side which also boasts the origin of 5 important rivers in Maharashtra.

Accommodation - Various options are available in the beautifully landscaped premises. We preferred the valley suite. The balcony of our hall unfortunately did not have the view of the valley but our bedroom gave a breathtaking sunrise view in the morning. All the rooms are very clean and very well maintained with very smart furniture as well as linens. Hot water available 24X7 and good bath accessories in the bathroom. The ACs are installed in none of the cottages and they aren't necessary since the ventilation is very good and the air is crisp, cool and refreshing

Food - I suggest that you should go for the all meals package of the resort. The food is excellent and spread is wonderful. The breakfast ranges from freshly cut fruits, cereals, muesli, jams, breads, butter, south indian specialties while we were lucky to have a sindhi specialty - Dal Pakwan. The lunch follows 'thali system' where you may fall pray to the courtesy of the staff and will overfill your guts. The evening snacks by the poolside are excellent. And the dinner is 'a la carte'. Ramsukh probably has kept the best place reserved for its restaurant as you could see in the morning, the sun rising from the hills over a stream of water (as picturesque as we had seen in our childhood textbooks)

Facilities - Ramsukh has an excellent spa and ayurvedic message centre. It also conducts yoga session in the early morning for the people who are interested in it. The property has a well maintained swimming pool but we avoided it as we were there in February and the atmosphere was very cool. For city enthusiasts, the discotheque is also available

Staff - Excellent staff Ramsukh has got. They are courteous and naturally come with the typical hospitable and gentle nature of Maharashtrians. We had actually reached the resort early in the morning, 2 hours before the check in time. However, we were not made to wait and were shifted temporarily to another cottage to unwind.

Tips - 1. Book for the Valley Suite which has balcony facing the vallley
2. Make it a point to visit the strawberry plantations owned by the Nalbands which are just at 5 minute walk from the resort and savour fresh strawberry cream and milk shake
3. Visit Mahabaleshwar and Krishna River Temple which are at walkable distance

I booked with these guys. The lady confirmed that it's all done. I asked on phone and email, do I need anything else and she said no. I drove off to Mahabaleshwar and called them for directions, they said my reservation was cancelled since I had not paid advance. I have never had this experience. Either the hotel tells me they need an advance or they don't. Here these guys didn't tell me and most likely sold my room for more. I tried reaching the MD, no one responded even after repeated tries. Please avoid this place if you want to have a good experience, imagine if they can do this what they will do when you go to stay with them.

For Vegetarians this is a paradise. Food it serves is great taste. Even the entire staff team is very helpful and very cordial. Only suggestion is property can be improved especially rooms. they are good but can be better. interiors can be jazzed up. We stayed in valley suit it is very well suited for the families with children staying in same room. The two beds are in separated with door inside the room. Over all excellent experience.
