Owner description: Mapro Gardens is a garden park in the hill station of Panchgani, Maharashtra, India, situated close to Mahabaleshwar, known for their strawberry produce, and a popular tourist destination. It is host to the annual Strawberry Festival. Mahabaleshwar contributes to 85% of the total Strawberry produce in India and about 80% is consumed fresh. The Strawberry Festival encourages the strawberry cultivation in the belt. The highlights of this festival are fresh farm picked strawberry lined up on tables for visitors to eat to their fullest as well as traditional folk performances such as Shivkalin Dhol and Lezim, a high energy dance for which dancers are invited from Pratapgarh.

They have a factory where they make these syrups, jams etc. One can have a visit of the factory. They sell their own products in the garden and give you tasters of every thing.
The snacks are delicious especially the sandwiches. Their homemade ice-creams with the toppings are yum.
A place must-visit

“It's fun to be at Mapro Garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2011

Mapro Garden is the ideal halt point while entering Mahabaleshwar. If you arrive early morning, make sure that your breakfast is at Mapro Gardens. The food is simply awesome. You can oder anything in the menu and be assured that you will end up licking your fingers!!! Do not forget to order the Strawberry Milkshake with cream and ice cream. It is a killer !!!!!! It is also great fun to see the workshop where you can see the whole manufacturing process for jams and crushes !!

“Terribly over rated - not worth a second visit”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2011

Mapro Gardens is so full of undeserved hype. All the reviews rave about their "famous" toasted cheese sandwich and other "delights".

Being cheese lovers in general, we too duly landed up at Mapro Gardens on our visit to Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. We were hungry and our expectations were high, having read all the salivating accounts posted by others.

To start with, there is a coupon system. You pay for what you want first, then collect it when it is ready and consume it at any of the available tables. For the price, they could have had table service.

In a word, the toasted cheese sandwich was miserable. The bread was pathetic at the outset. One would expect the key ingredient of a sandwich to be GOOD quality bread. This was like sawdust. The cheese filling was ample but absolutely tasteless. The overall effect was of deep disappointment, amplified by the high expectations and our hunger.

Mapro Gardens also has several counters selling their fruit processed products such as squashes, jams, jujubes and what have you. Nothing exceptional about them, the jams have far too much sugar content and they could learn a valuable lesson or four in jam making from their counterparts in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The jujubes and jelly sweets are tasty but leave you with a very dry tongue, no doubt due to one of the ingredients. As for the squashes and crushes, they are all available at every shop in Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar.

We also bought a map of Mahabaleshwar and were disappointed to discover about ten kilometres down the road that it was shop soiled and tattered when taken out of the cover.

This is our personal opinion. Mapro Gardens is hugely popular judging by the large crowds inside and the number of vehicles parked outside at any given time.

Our family will not be patronising Mapro Gardens again.
