I went to Mahabaleshwar. Mahabaleshwar is a hill station located in the Western Ghats, in Satara district of Maharashtra. Known for its captivating beauty and the beautiful strawberry farms, the city comprises of ancient temples, boarding schools, manicured and lush green dense forest, waterfalls, hills, valleys. It is great place to go.

All the spots are before Mahabaleshwar main city. If you have own vehicle recommend to stay in Panchgani as better view and cheaper. Also Mahabaleshwar is expensive, does not have local cusine. All good restaurants on road between Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. At the lake the staff was not friendly and lack ride was very expensive and over hyped. Recommend using black taxi as prices are standard. Other private operators have own version of sight seeing options which are expensive. I did not have a good experience on this. In private cab, he offered to show 3 points. But was surprised when all 3 points are at same location just that you walk 2 mins to get a different angle to view. They are Kate point, Elephintstone (needle) point and waterfall. But they project it as 3 different points.

Mahabaleshwar is the most scenic place in Maharashtra located at the top of the hill. It's accessibility from both the sides of Sahyadri ranges makes it even more popular. This town has got great history and it's surrounded by many forts which are older than 400 years.

A beautiful hill station nestled across the mountains. A great gateway from MUMBAI and a nice relaxing place.

Me and my wife went to Mahabaleshwar and tour packages include many points but many of them r within 200 meteres, for eg elephant head point, needle Key hole point etc all these points r within 100 or 200 meteres, but those cheaters are simply putting it as separate points to make u think exciting.in that table point there people will come and tell u ,its impossible to travel by walking and only with horse riding u can achieve this. But this is totally a wa ste of money as they will charge 1650 for one horse,if u want to experience horse riding in other places only 150 is charged.u can go by walk or by bike.the last day it will be only traveling back during morning time to the place where u caught the tourist place, instead they could make in the night before that day but Dey will do it in the next day morning to ask more money by filling one more day.
