“Good place for a family”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

if you are going for 3-4 days and with kids. this is a very good place to stay. It is in old part just before main Shiva temple. Rooms are not very good but then not a costly place too. They provide a complete package with all 3 meals inclusive. "Ghar Ka khana" that too with lot of variety and very delicious. Hospitality no comparison at all. Live like a home there. All beutiful points are close including the beutiful scene of Krishnamai temple where Krishna river originates.

Only disappointment you may get is not a hotel kind feeling or up keeping of rooms to hotel standards but once you live for 1 day you wont go anywhere else after the food facility, hospitality and on demand whatever you want for kids even safe. It is away from city pollution noise and perfect place for vacation. All the people we met there usually are coming there again and again and do not anywhere else. They were from rich famiies even.

Hats of to the owner.

hey , friends, im writing this review again as i had written in all caps.... i,m doing this bcoz i dont want u to miss this beautiful place on earth called Mahableshwar... and this place in Mahableshwar Hotel Happy home ..this is just a home away from home,,,we were lost as it was too foggy and rainy...but Apurva [ owner of this property ]came himself and guided us to this place which i wudnt call it a hotel or a lodge it was pure second home for us...we had 2 kids aged 2 and 4, so wenever the kids asked for milk they wud immediately get it . the older cottages r much more cozier than the new ones....the older and the new cottage both have a separate dining area, also wenever u ask for hot water u will get it in the next 5 mins, the service was the USP of this property... the food is simply superb ... u ask for it and u will get it... we reached at 2 pm in the afternoon the lunch was ready and served hot.... the best part of happy home is the HOSPITALITY with which they take care of their guests it was just outstanding ... if i dont mention the corn tikkis wudnt b fair or for the deserts the phirni was just delicious... U just have to tell Apurva what u wanna eat and he will see to it that it is done in a tasty way...but ofcourse u hv to tell him a day in advance...therer lcd,s in all the rooms so if u wanna watch anything u can, also there is a proper back up for electricity....there r temples just walkable from happy home....also if u need a guide for a tour , Apurva will arrange for you.... The best part is this property is for the one who loves nature and doesnt want to b in a star hotel.....just relax ...take a chair and admire the rains and fog....it was the most memorable trip of mine....as bn travelling to this place almost every year.....Apurva u r doing GREAT WORK....KEEP IT UP...

Room Tip: the older rooms are more cosy.....and warm...

I will mention in bold this is a very good property with a very good homestay ambiance. Cosy, Clean, neat and safe. Please do not compare or expect something you would expect in a star hotel.

I can be tight budget traveler when I am traveling with friends and have experienced plenty homestays before. This was easily say one of the best Homestay for me.

Liked the way they have maintained the concrete bungalow as well the traditional Mahableshwar house within the same Verandah. We chose to stay in the old house in a room overlooking the Verandah. A very refreshing sight with pitter patter raindrops hitting Verandah and to be sitting on the Window. WOW.

The bungalow has nice cosy beds with Plasma TV's. But yea thats what we do 365 days a year.. The feel of the old rustic home is what is needed. We choose to continue to stay in the Old house inspite of being offered to be moved to the Bunglow next day.

Loved the hospitality of the staff. Always on their toes and ready to help.

The food was superbly amazing. A good variety of food. Nice heavy breakfast. Inspite of having a heavy hangover we ate till our hearts were full. I would however mention Malvani cuisine is their forte. They give u option to select. Choose Malvani you wudnt regret.

U have local general stores @ store throw distance just incase u forgot to pick up something from home. U can always engage the staff if u want them to get something.

Also a sincere thanks to Apurv(Owner and stays in Mumbai) for taking care of all the arrangements for us. The directions to reach happy home was impeccable. A certain miss if u dont follow the guidelines mentioned by him.

All in All a good Team lead by Apurv. A definite recommendation to everyone

Room Tip: If you are a happy drinker choose the room in the old house overlooking the Verandah in Monsoons.

well i had visited in february along with my family and it was the chill or the winter which you generally miss in Mumbai.
i guess best time to visit mahableswar and also the right to get discounted rates in the hotels out here.
being having small verandas outside each room it gives a better sit out space for all to sit outside and enjoy the chill.
the hotel being located in old mahableshwar its surrounded by lots of green spaces and great views which one would like to enjoy.

Room Tip: rooms here are located very nicely so you dont need to worry about it

Well if you want to reach happy homes, then you have to follow directions religiously or you will get lost. We reached happy homes at about 5.00 am in the morning after starting from Borivali Mumbai at About 10.00pm, so it was a night drive for us. What was helpful were the directions provided by the owner Apurva as a sms, which was really helpful and helped us reached Happy Homes. The food , service and the people are very friendly and if you want a good stay, then would recommend this place. The staff is always attentive and would also suggest you places to visit and will also arrange for a guide if you require it. Overall a great experience and a fun stay.

Room Tip: Hire a Guide.

the first time we visited this place was when my daughter was 2 yrs old. now she is 13yrs old. we just love this place for many reasons. the food is too good. The rooms are clean. The place is away from the maddening crowd. We love to visit this place as often as we can. The hospitiality what u getr here even a 5star hotel cannot do. they serve u with so much love that u become not their customer but their family member. the place is very relaxing. My husband feels totally relaxed when we visit here.

Room Tip: all rooms are good and clean. but u looking for new rooms then they have the bungalow with rooms in...
