Must visit for its ancient character. very peaceful location and next to all the main sightseeing points. Good parking facilities. Adjacent to Panchganga temple, which though of great historical significance, was very poor inside. Wish it had the water from the promised panch ganga

Temples are in old Mahabaleshwar area. Panchaganga Mandir is very beautiful and five holy rivers krishna, venna, koyna, Savitri & gayatri show their token appearance here. Shiva mandir is also very well maintained. Hardly few people visit Krishnadevi Mandir which is another beautiful stone temple.
There are lots of shops around temple premises but you can buy same items in main market with a little bit cheap prices. Quick visit to this place will cover all the temples and panchaganga temple is must visit among these.

Indian culture - specially the hindus have displayed criminal neglect for history. It is reflected in the manner in which temples are maintained. Mahabaleshwar temple is an example! With the kind of revenues collected from tourists, this temple could be really made a beautiful spot. It gives you a sense of awe to see this temple - which at one point must have been really beautiful!

although it looks just average from the outside...the inside is thrilling....its all stone....the water of five rivers converges here....inside the temple...each river is marked with its name...and you can have a dip in the stone tank....the water is really chilly and its quite cold inside....you cannot stay dry if you visit this temple and hence it is wise to take an extra set of clothes...
it is a refreshing experience and a very unique type of temple...worth a visit if your in mahabaleshwar....

Excellent locale. Perched atop the highest westward point "Arthur Seat', its a masterpiece in simplicity, boasts superb design features. It's a complex of i)a temple devoted to Lord Shiv, ii)source of 5 rivers , iii) a small temple of River KRISHNA . All are made up in black ignacious rock of the western ghats.Source of 5 rivers Krishna,Koyna,Venna,Savitri & (said to be Ganges arriving every 12 years) is superbly carved, canopied. This shrine has two exquisitely made small temples adorning its entrance attributed to Mahabal & Atibal demons.Though I am a veteran of sixty years' visitor to M'shwar since 1952,staying there during the summer seasons 1952-1965 & residing in hotels thereafter; for me too there was a surprise in the form of the temple to River "KRISNA" !!! Since my kid days, we would walk all the way to Arthur seat, see the Panchanadi Source, visit the SHIV shrine, but never knew, there existed this other temple devoted to Krishna River! May be we did not notice it since it faces the Eastern flank of the mount. Some 200 yards away from Mahab
