“Still The Same Form my Last Visit ,”

Hotel Rajesh is the same from last so many years of my visit and it’s still the same , in fact i was just going through what Mr. PCMGUJARAT had to say about it , looks like either it’s his first visit @ Mahableshwar or He has not stayed anywhere else in Mahableshwar , I can surely say one thing apart from Kies , Ramsuhk and Birghtland there is no other hotel in Mahableshwar giving 24X7 Running Hot Water , Yes i do agree with him that they are a bit strict on their rules and regulations part but never ever aggroant , i mean i am coming to Mahableshwar from last 14 yrs. 3 times a year and would have stayed in all most all hotels , but if you compare all the hotel of Rajesh type they are the best , and i can say one thing from sure , if you need good food , good location and peace of mind Rajesh is the place to be , they mostly have family crowd and the way they maintaining peace in their camps and rooms is a good job done , i would recommend this to all people who love guju food and need to just go there and relax

We have been visiting Hotel Rajesh for past seven years in the December – January season and find the location extremely convenient to stay at Mahabaleshwar. Amongst the many hotels that are right in the middle of the market place, only a handful of them have the ambience and spaced-out feeling. There are three types of rooms viz Deluxe, Super Deluxe and Classic in the order of price tag. Of these, the Deluxe and Classic are in a building that does not have a great ambience and the windows overlook the street. However, the Super Deluxe Rooms are housed in very a very ambient building with windows overlooking either the garden or the hotel open space. It gives a peaceful and spacious feeling even when you are right in the midst of the market place. Best part is you don’t have to bother about parking the car when going to market.
Giving a few good and not-so-good points below:
>> Housekeeping staff is friendly.
>> Very Spacious rooms with either a balcony or a sit-out
>> The Hotel promotes food inclusive package. There is very little rebate if we take packages without food.
>> A/c is central with no temperature control in the room. This can be a problem in winter when you want to ventilate the room
>> Bathrooms are due for a makeover. These have worn out over the years and compared to new hotels coming up in recent times, these warrant a re-fitment.

Booking is done on Mumbai contact number but the executive handling booking is in a typical call centre mode who is more keen on sending you the 2 pages long rules and regulations in the email response. However, when we discussed this apparent insensitive attitude with the manager at the reception desk at Mahabaleshwar, we were advised that if we want to discuss any requirements of room preferences etc, we can call up the Mahabaleshwar number after we do the booking and they will accommodate reasonable requests.

Room Tip: Go for Super Deluxe Rooms on First Floor

I went by their name & I must say that you need to take serious review before you book Rajesh.

Firstly their Terms & condition is more than one page & believe me they stick to each work religiously. It looks like more of legal agreement between two parties than a customer experience

When we visited their reception at check In & there was no kind of welcome & they were not even intersted to talk. They even dont provide any local assistance of guidance even of you ask for it. I have never seen their recpetion or any staff smiling or helping.any guests.

Rooms are ok but lighting is very poor, Lighting is so poor that you can not read within room. They have multiple wings & every wing there is an supervisior for that block, who instead of service staff looks more like security guard. In stead of helping guests, they are more concerned to inform you about rules of their hotels & saying No to any of your requests.

Most annoying factor is they dont respect your privacy. Their supervisor is constantly peeping in corrider for any activity. The worst part was that in morning their staff starts bothering you by visiting your room for changing bedsheet, cleaning room & Toilet & all of them after different & come one by one, All of them cleaned our room just within 10 Minutes so how can you expect better cleanliness? They insist that room must be cleaned in your presence hence you have to sit & loose precious hours for stupid activity. I have at least visited 100+ hotels from low budget to 5 start hotels but never seen such kind of rules. I had to literally scold them not to come around my room until I call. All hotel services are on demand base only & service personnels must not visit guest area until called but here it is completly reverse. Even "Dharm shalas" are better than this hotel,

Hot water is only available from 7 to 10 AM which is another worst part & they start water only at 7 AM not before that even on your personal request. They even dont make alternate arrangements even if you request to highest authority. So if you are early risers & want to go for any places to visit, you can't.How much incovenient is this at hill station, let me explain.
We had planned to go to Pratapgadh in early morning but due to water problem, we got ready only @ 9 AM with breakfast. So we could reach Pratapgadh by 10.30 only as you have to cross 2-3 ghat & cover 22+ Kms, It takes @ 1 Hour to climb pratapgadh so we reached at peak @ 11.30 & by that time it was pretty hot & when we returned back it was almost 12.30. So we could only do one spot in morning half. Please note that most of points in mahableshwar are widely spread & are far from Hotel Rajesh (only market is near by hotel). Hence you can only see 2-3 spots on a day if you stay at Hotel Rajesh. Also if you want to take bath in evening, either you have take with cold water of end up without bath. How ridiculuos!!

On other side, their check out is 8 AM SHARP. Tell me how can all family members get ready within 1 Hr? & bad part is their staff starts knocking & reminding for check pout from 7.45 AM. On both days in morning during our stay, we show many of guests requesting their staff & then it turned in quarrel for check out timimg.

All rules made by their management is on their safer side & not considering guest conveniency. Somebody righly mentioned that we have gone there for leisure not for any boot camp. Just to add on this, we are not staying in any hostel or so.

Let us come to food part. Firstly I must admit that quality of food is very good & menus for were very well designed (at least during my stay). Also they prepare most of items in Jain course which is rarely seen elsewhere. But worst part here is their serving. First day in sweet there was "Barfi" & we were surprised to see that normal "Barfi" was cut in four piece & was being served. Same for other day sweet as well. Their staff will never come to your table until you ask for it so you have to continously call them one by one. It was more surprising to see that if you are four people taking food in same table, he will serve item to one who asks for it & will not even ask others whether they want it or not. If Vegetable comes, roti doesnt come & vice versa. They give Ice Cream in evening & funny part was that they give token (strickly one per person) for same when you are taking dinner !!!

They had arranged magic show which was ok for time pass but after show was complete, he was demanding Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1000/- from all guests.

Their garden is not so great for kids to play. Swiming pool is good but it has also timings & they dont allow anyone without swiming costume & that too strickly.

They dont have any facilty for drivers so they have to sleep in their cabs & take bath in staff bathrooms

Dont go based on any ratings.

There is one point in Pratapgadh Fort known as "Kadelot Point (Punishment)". If you cant see it in pratapgadh, you can enjoy & feel same after paying at Hotel Rajesh

This is my personal experience to bring right picture however I recommend that you take your own judgement based on facts produced

Room Tip: Try other options. There are many

We stayed in Hotel Rajesh during monsoons when the climate in Mahabaleshwar is extremely foggy and moist. Rajesh is an old property with rusting furniture. The room allocated to us was extremely moist and cold for the 2 nights we stayed there. I understand it was due to monsoons, but it looked as if there was no initiative taken by the hotel management to ensure that the rooms remain moisture free and dry during such weather. Furniture and bathroom fittings were rusted and require a major upgrade. We chose a deluxe room with bath tub and balcony. We had to struggle to use the bath tub as the drain stopper provided could not withheld the water within the tub. When we complained to the staff, they took a considerable amount of time to fix the problem. They somehow managed to fix the drain stopper in place. However, afterwards we were unable to remove the stopper once we had used the bath tub. Its a waste to provide a bath tub if we have to struggle so much to use it. Mahabaleshwar is a hill station and has cold climate throughout the year. The hotel provides hot water only in the morning up till 10 am. Considering the cold climate, there should be a 24 hours hot water availability. Also when you are on a holiday, one would not like to wake up and take a shower as per a fix time table which the hotel forces us by limiting the hot water availability. Check out time is also at an unearthly hour of 8am and they do not compromise on it if you request them to extend it. I had requested the hotel staff to serve me breakfast in my room on one of the mornings as i was feeling bit under the weather. But the hotel staff rudely rejected the request and insisted food will be served only in the dining room. The hotel was fairly unoccupied due to off season when i had visited it and they could have easily accommodated my request. The quality of the food was strictly OK when compared to other properties such as DreamLand and Fountain. It was just edible enough to fill your tummy. The hotel corridors were constantly wet and dirty due to moisture in the air and hotel staff did nothing to clean them. The hotel is right in the market area and hence it does not even offer any beautiful views. Considering its an old property that is poorly managed and there are no scenic views around the hotel, i would advise anyone not to go for it.

Room Tip: Do not opt for this one. There are much better hotels in Mahabaleshwar such as DreamLand and Fountai...

Hotel is very close to market, walkable distance.....serves nice food.....so much so that you tend to eat above capacity !!

Evening snacks are helpful for kids as they tend not to eat during lunch !! Also are exhausted after the visits to points / market !

All in all good place to stay near market with clean rooms and good food !

We stayed in hotel rajesh in aug'12, we had booked 2 super deluxe rooms for 3 nights. We had informed them that we will be checking in at night but kept on getting calls from them right from lunch time... Also, the called at 8 stating that the dinner is served only till 9:30 so if we don't reach by then we will not get dinner.... Though we managed to reach by then... The dinner was least appealing and was too oily.... The rooms lacked upkeep... And the bathrooms by no standard we're clean and we called the housekeeping we were told that the bathrooms can be cleaned only next day morning!!!!! Though finally we managed changing the room.... But the same was no better... We would have actually checked out had we not paid 100 percent advance... Next day we get a call @ 9 stating breakfast will be served only till 9:30 and hot water only till 10 unbelievable....!!! The room service staff is of help only if u pay them extra... We ended up having all meals outside the hotel.... The only saving grace is the location... It is walking distance from market..... Will definitely not go back again to get a boot camp experience....!!!!

Good hotel with decent value for money. Location is good and Food esp Thali is very popular and worth trying.Staff is helpful. Bookings have to be done well in time in order to get good packages as this hotel is very popular.
