Stayed here on business and was very happy, and I don't even know there was a pool! Complimentary breakfast every morning was promptly served and decent. The highlight was the staff, all of whom were friendly, especially the lady at the reception who put up with me pestering her to get my key regularly. Even got a complimentary calendar when I left. Didn't work out how the shower worked till the last day, but I put that down to my own stupidity over anything else! Bags is a hole of the lowest order sadly, but it was nice to come back to somewhere decent. Recommended of you end up in this most unfortunate part of Goa.

I stayed at Cavala for a week in December 2012. This was my first stay at the resort and I was very pleased with my decision to stay here. The staff was courteous, attentive and very responsive. For the tariff that we paid, we got what we expected. Nothing too fancy. Nice airy clean room, good ventilation, bathroom was nice, big and had a small balcony. We read other reviews before booking so as advised, we took a field facing room on the first floor and not a road facing room, away from the restaurant noise. There is thick vegetation outside the ground floor rooms so the first floor is a good choice if you're planning to stay here. Stick to the field facing side. The breakfast was not too fancy so we just ate eggs, everyday. The restaurant is nice and one can take their time reading or anything else that one fancies during breakfast. Baga is over crowded so we used to go for a drive after breakfast and return only after dinner time. Brittos closeby was a diappointment so we happily ate at Suza lobo at Calangute beach nearby. You should not miss the masala fried prawns at Suza Lobo. Cavala was a wonderful stay and good rates. Though I must warn you that being on the crowded main road of Baga, its a bit noisy. The place is nicely done up with a lot of flowers and hedges and nice balconies. It made for a good stay if you want a good clean place for the night.

Room Tip: Better Rooms are on first floor, away from restaurant, facing the fields.

We have stayed at Cavala for 3 occasions now. Each time we had a a different experience. Once we stayed in a suite, once in their 3 bedroom bungalows and once in their tree house type cottage across the street. Each one of them was great. Brilliant location, lovely breakfast and great value for money. We have patronized this place for our staying each time we visit Goa either as a couple or bunch of friends.

Room Tip: Try one of their tree house type cottage across the street. If you are atleast a group of 6 take one...

We were a group of friends out for a drink and food at Baga and accidentally stumbled upon the Cavala Restaurant. It was a Thursday night I think and they were playing retro and What a place, ambience and crowd??!! We were sucked into the place and ended up hanging around till way past mid-night enjoying the great music, super stylish goan crowd and also some good food!

Must say, Cavala is one of the most rocking 'pub style' places in the Baga area of North Goa and a must visit for friends or couples!!

The place is a bit heavy on the pocket I say but the ambience more than makes it a good evening hangout!

Cavala hotel is the perfect charming Goa getaway form the hustle bustle of the touristy Baga beach. Even though it's in the center of a commercial tourist location, it has a beautiful old charm feel to it , which is very different from all the other commercial hotels that are around in the area. We stayed for 3 days at their adjoining property called Banana republic..and i would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a peaceful stay in baga, yet dont want to be far away from the busy beach. We stayed in the Pool suites.. and the rooms were huge with nice spacious terraces and bathrooms. The service of the hotel could've been a little better..eg:our rooms weren't ready when we arrived, some of the electronic gadgets like the safe and fridge were not working and even though we requested for safe to be fixed..no one showed up.But apart from that, everything else about the hotel was great! we enjoyed a classic live jazz nite with the locals and tourists, the breakfast was good the pool was fantastic, though not as clean as it should be and a no hassle checkout, they even packed a complimentary roast pork for us for takeaway! overall we had a fantastic time in Banana Republic and would definitely come back and stay here again!

Room Tip: the pool view suite is a little more expensive than the rest of the rooms..but certainly worth the m...

I had been there in April mid and I found few rooms were occupied , the only thing I found there which was worth was its location . The staff was so lazy as If not paid salary since months . It has nothin to offer . The only thing was the live band who played some retro rock. Quite ordinary place

Great little time tested place, owners who obviously bring in the passion into ensuring that guests have a good time but its the little things that are not being taken care of. I last stayed here in Feb 2012 and took a suite. I had to chase out 5 lizards from the room!! If you are okay with this sort of thing then you won't have a problem else look elsewhere until they sort themselves out.
On the plus side, their bar hosts an excellent Friday night scene with guests, neighbours and locals all joining in to make merry.
Cavala, if you are listeing please work on the details and you will rock once more!
