“The place to stay”
Reviewed February 2, 2011

This was our second time to the hotel, infact we had such confidence that we booked 3 weeks for this year. The location is outstanding, our room, 156 had a sea view, ground floor with a balcony for watching the sun set, fantastic. Rooms are cleaner than other hotels we reviewed, we are particular as we also own a hotel our selves and without a doubt cleanliness is paramount. Daily sheet change and towels. Breakfast does not offer a huge choice, but a chef is on hand to cook fresh eggs to order and a choice daily of baked beans, sausage, bacon all changes daily. Our room might have been in the middle of a refurishment as we had a flat screen TV with about 12 English speaking chanells, star movies, BBC news etc.
I can not reccomend this hotel enough, it's not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either but you can not go wrong. All the staff from the gardners who brought us fresh chopped coconuts for us to drink on our second day, to the waiting and reception staff are very friendly. I read a few reviews about the girls on reception being rude, not to me, so I can not comment for others. Enjoy your stay and I give this 10/10

I haven't stayed in this hotel for the last six years, but my return did not dissappoint.
This hotel is without a doubt the best located resort in the Calangute area, a three minute walk to the beach down a private road that in itself is a haven from the local traders, much as I love em, some peace can be assured once youenter the hotel grounds, as it should be, Security is evident 24 hours a day seven days a week.

The standard of the rooms is undoubtedly varied but ALL I suggest offer a very clean and comfortable surroundings. Dont come here if you want luxury, don't come here if you want basic, but definately come here if have reasonable expectations of good service, levels of comfort and cleanliness all politely and efficiently delivered as is the Goan way.
The standard of the food in the restaurant is very good, however for me the menu was limited, but tht was no worry as there are restaurants a plenty in the locale that will blow you away. Breakfast was exactly as you would expect cooked and cold options, so all good there too!

The swimming pool is clean and maintained daily, the bar staff serving drinks morning, noon, and night, generally with a smile.

Will I come back to the CSM?
Hell yes everytime

Looking at the other hotels in the locale, this is certainly in the top five so book here with confidence.......A neat and tightly run hotel for sure

Good location for both town, beach and resteraunts. Hotel room damp and musty, bathroom in need of refurb. Asked to be moved but other rooms shown to us were the same unless we paid to upgrade (£120.00 per week).
Boscos shack was our base, spent all day there, well looked after and cheap, also good food.
We booked with Thomas Cook, Laura was our rep and was very good at her job.
We will probably return in the future but may try flight only and stay at Bernards accross from KC's pub.

I stayed at CSM for two weeks in Nvember and thought it was great value for money. Ok the rooms were basic and could do with a bit of an update, but take in to account the excellent location, welcoming staff & good food, it sort of makes up for the basic rooms. A little investment in this hotel could easily promote it from a 3 star to a 4 star hotel. I went on a tour to Karnataka whilst here and some of the hotels i stayed in there, certainly made me appreciate CSM even more. i am going back to Goa in April 2011 and i am hoping to stay at CSM again.

The CSM is probably in the best location in Baga - close to the beach and within a short walk of all the main bars and restaurants. It was a brilliant location to see in the new year. The hotel itself is not self contained it is spreadout along the road leading to the beach. The rooms are very basic, not well maintained and tend to smell of damp (the kind of room that you may have been allocated in Greece 20 years ago). Everyone in the hotel seems to get moved in search of a more acceptable apartment (the reps job here is a complete nightmare). That said, if the hotel invested a small amount of money it could be be brought up to standard without much effort. Breakfast is pretty basic although the gala dinner that the hotel put on for new year was good. Staff are friendly apart from the two girls behind reception and general security around the complex is evident. Having looked at other hotels in Baga the CSM certainly appears to be one of the better ones - that said the overall standard in the area is poor.

Stayed for xmas & new year we were very dissapointed upon arrival when we were shown to our room as the damp smell was very bad following a further 3 room inspections and found all to be the same so we chose to upgrade to a suite ( pool View ) this was much better ( Thanks to Laura T / Cook Rep she was great ) we had to pay though, once settled we had a great holiday good location and staff were great and helpfull food wasalso good. hotel could do with an update though as the rates people were paying to stay here were high compared to other hotels in the area.

We went to Goa for a school reunion and the one thing which stood out was the service that we received. All the other little things did not matter. The other good thing is the location which is just a 2 min walk from the Baga beach. Overall I was very happy with the stay the food. Decent rooms at a good price.
