The hotel is great, the location is brilliant but the service was mediocre. It felt like a beautiful property was being run by a fairly incompetent staff.

We had to change room three times due to the AC not working and even then the AC randomly stopped working in the middle of the night.

The Hotel is a well spread out property located close to the Baga beach. There are about 100 odd villas. The rooms are spacious and come with a separate sitting room, fairly large toilets and a small balcony. The Villas are set out in rows and only the guests staying in the first couple of rows from the sea can have the luxury of sea view from their rooms.
The resturant - Balcao offers Continental, Chinese & Indian cuisines though we mainly preferred to venture out for food options which were plenty on offer. The spread for buffet breakfast was limited and there is scope for improvement here.
On the beach side, there are shacks on offer while on the Baga-Calangute road (3 min walk from CSM), one gets any type of cuisine as per his choice and range. The famous Tito's Club is about 10 min walk while Souza Lobo & Brittos are about 1.5 kms away (in different directions though).
There are 2 swimming pools available, though only one was in operation during our stay. But both the pools are not too big in size and the number of sun decks are limited (due to lack of space around).
Taxi etc is available right outside the gates for most of the day and there are unlimited shopping options on the Baga-Calangute Road. Overall, great location and decent place to stay.

The location and staff at the CSM are perfect, minutes from the beach, lovely pool, food and drinks lovely, minutes walk from the shops and restaurants of Baga, go the other way and your on the beach in lesss than 2-3 minutes of leaving your room. The rooms were clean, my only fault was the rock hard beds, boy was I glad to get back in my own bed once I got home, everything else was perfect.
We travelled here in 2002 but it won't let me type in the travel date.

We came back from the 'CSM' on March 2nd 2013. The staff, location and food were second to none. I would recommend this hotel. We were in a premium room but because it was a bit noisy ( chickens ) we asked to be moved. This was done in 2 days.

CSM is a very nice resort , just on the baga beach . the staff is good, atmosphere is good , good swimming pool.
it was all in all a happy go merry stay at the resort. the only negative thing i faced was that all the rooms are in suite format . each room had a bedroom and a living room . the negative thing is that the bed room is small and the living room is comparatively bigger. i was travelling with my family including 6 year twins, who are not habbitual to sleeping in another room . the bed room was so cramped that it could not accomodate 2 extra beds. i shared my problem with the hotel staff . the lady at reception was so nice that she herself followed me to the room alloted and discussed with the housekeeping staff all the possible solutions . eventually i was moved to another adjoining room that had just enough space to accomodate 2 extra beddings after joing a few adjustments in the room furniture.
the problem that may arise to other couples with kids is that the only AC in the suite is in the bedroom . how could anybody accomodate his kid in the living room without AC.
otherwise a very beautiful resort.................................................

Room Tip: i feel individual requirement should be discussed with resort staff while making the booking........

The location is superb and when you look at the property it is amazing. Room rates are also reasonable however the rooms need an upgrade soon.Rooms are decent sized, however the bathrooms leave much to be desired. The food and service standards are inconsistent to say the least. The front office staff (Jennifer, Maria and the rest) are extremely capable, however the restaurant service and the small poolside service is pathetic to say the least. Breakfast is very average and the overall quality of food leaves much to be desired. Luckily the location is superb so there is no dearth of good restaurants nearby. The pools shut at 6pm which is absolutely ridiculous. The poolboy in the small pool also takes it upon himself to make his own rules - white children are allowed in the small swimming pool, yet Indians are told off. Absolutely not acceptable and when told off he said that the whites don't understand what he says.

Room Tip: Ask for the newer rooms.

There is a children's pool and that should be used for children for their safety. To attribute racist motives like " whites" being allowed is motivated and not factually correct. The hotel does NOT practise any kind of discrimination. Wish the guest had taken up any issue if had one with the manager during the stay.

Stayed at csm feb 13 bit aprehensive about india heard some bad stories but i can honestly say best holiday ive ever had and we will be going back next year.csm is in a great location right on baga beach rooms are very clean and tidy.Beds and towels changed everyday.Food in the csm restaraunt was always fab and the owner a indian guy that lives in the uk too ate at the hotel every night with his customers and if you had any complaints or probs he would sort them out straight away.Ov cause there were english people that just moaned about anything and everything.ITS NOT ENGLAND ITS A DIFFERENT WORLD if you want english go skeggy for a holiday and stop embarrising the rest of the genuine english hoilday makers that fall in love with GOA.The lads at Buckingham beach shack were fantastic couldnt do enough for us and please remember these guys are miles from there homes and get paid no wages just 3 to 5 pounds a day in tips for a 15 hour a day job for 6 months with no days off so dont be tight its nothing to us....
