Decent size room and relatively clean but damp has started to take hold of the building due to lack of maintenance and poorly sealed bathroom walls. Staff friendly and the sky lounge on the top floor is a better spot to catch some rays than the downstairs
pool area. It's a 10-15 min walk to Baga beach and unfortunately my bag was snatched en route one night so take a taxi when you are going anywhere ( shame as it's nice to have a walk around).

On arrival at 16degres the hotel staff are friendly reception drink is a coke! Place looked modern and good. Was given room 205 on second floor. Good sized and clean but needed some maintenance and redecoration/ deep cleaning! Wall between bedroom bathroom showed damp and efflorescence from leaking in shower! And the silicone around tiles was old and yellowing showing it needed some work! Wasn't dirty just poor maintenance. Don't let this put you off though as the place as clean. Internet was very hit and miss and free in reception but 100rp a day in your room which never seemed to work and I. Daily had to get staff password to access. Carol was great and helpfull in this and probably the most adept member of staff working there. Sky lounge is a great daytime sunbathing place with the small pool to dive into to cool of. Better internet access would be fab as we needed access due to a bag snatcher. But hotel staff where helpfull when this happened on walk towards baga beach.

Dear Guest,

It's unfortunate to hear of the bag snatching incident during your visit. Doesn't usually happen in Goa. Hope the rest of your trip went off well. We did notice the points mentioned during your stay. Many have been worked on. We usually keep the minor repairs to be done over less occupancy period so that other guests aren't inconvenienced. Thanks again for comments on our team efforts. Hope to see you soon again!

My wife and I stayed at 16 Degrees North for almost 10 days between Christmas and new years. We had a premium room on the third floor with an amazing river view. The room was tidy, elegant, and well priced for the peak season. The staff are amazing and very friendly. This property is located in a great area where everything is just a short walk away. The downside of 16 Degrees North were a few things: 1. Corridor noise was un-comforting. Some staff members yelled frequently whilst attending to the cleanliness of the property. Also, we could hear doors being slammed shut almost constantly and that was very annoying when one was sleeping. That noise was really loud.
2. The rooms were very small to our liking and when I booked the premium room I thought I paid a bit extra for bit of extra space.
3. Cleanliness could have been better. Sand and dust stains not well attended to but it was peak season and the staff did put extra effort in cleaning our room when we noted that.

I like the hotel and felt like I was home away from home. It's the people there that make the difference. I would recommend the team to pay a bit more attention to the few details I noted above and this boutique hotel will go from good to great.

Thanks guys for your hospitality.

Dear Sameh,

Thanks so much for your comments. Your observation on the noise in the corridor has helped us work on it. The doors can be managed with stoppers so that the slamming by other guests does not hamper your time within the room. Thanks again for the comments. Would be happy to host you again!

16 Degrees North was worth every rupee. The staff are very friendly. The food was amazing including a nice drink special. Free breakfast with fruit, toast, chai, Indian food and an omelette bar cooked to order. The pool was a little small but well kept and enjoyable. The rooms were super nice. Clean, spacious, nice amenities like cable tv, WiFi, and AC. We were ruined after leaving this wonderful place, everywhere else seemed sketchy and/or you got what you paid for. We originally wanted to stay for one night, but it ended into three. We left for a couple nights, got homesick, not for the area but for the hotel. So we returned for another couple nights. This was one of the best places to stay on our India trip. Away from Baga madness, but really a five minute walk to the beach, or short taxi to the main baga beach. Very peaceful and chic.

Reason for selection for 16 Degree North was Tripadvisor ranking... We went with lot of expectations - some were met and some didn't... Some positives - Great location, Neat & Clean Rooms, small but clean pool, average food... However, thing that the hotel need to really improve - is service quality and time... You need to ask for hand towels and bath towels every day as they are short... You would find only one kept when there is a family of three staying in the room... Order anything (room service) from the hotel restaurant - it will take anywhere between 45-60 mins... One thing that really took me off was the poor spread of breakfast... You wont even feel like lifting your plate in the morning looking at the spread... might as well go out and eat... No cornflakes/ no juice/ no breads/ no fruits.... really bad... One thing that puts you off in the morning is the breakfast...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We have changed our breakfast menu and daily options last month acc to the feedback we receive from guests. We have certain items available all day and certain for the breakfast spread time only like our live omelet counter etc. Every guest is a new experience and has various suggestions and observations. We try our best to accomodate all that we can. Each guest has various expectations whilst staying with us and we try to match up and bid farewell to each hoping to see them again. We surely hope to see you too.

Till then
