“Best Restaurant in Jambiani”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Me and my friend spent 7 nights in Jambiani, when we found this restaurant right on the beach (near where we were staying at Gardens) we were very happy as there was a huge choice of food, soups, salads, pasta, african food, chicken dishes, beef dishes, fish dishes, pilau and lots lots more. As said on previous posts, sometimes not all the menu is available depending on what they have brought that day. All food that we tried was very yummy, i mostly enjoyed the pasta dishes but also traditional rice and beans was very nice. The restaurant is run by a lovely family, and most nights we were there you would find their children happily playing. Food was very cheap between 5,000-15,000 Tsh (ish) which is between £2-£6 for a main meal (1 course). We ended up going to this restaurant 5 nights out of 7, and would recommend it to everyone. :)

“Careful of the Chilli Sauce !”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

The best thing was the homemade Tagliatelle. However, my husband, in his wisdom, smothered his with the fermenting chilli sauce, and was a sick as a dog for 2-3 days afterwards! The service is very slow, however, that is not unusual for Jambiani - "pole pole" (slowly, slowly) is their motto. We got talking to the owner, and Italian lady, who had an interesting story of moving from Milan to Jambiani (about as far away from each in style as I could imagine).

“Simple but familiar and Italian”
Reviewed January 4, 2012

We found this italian managed restaurant walking on the beach.
The food availability depends on the cath of the day but you can be sure it is really fresh.

They are a piece of Italy in Zanziabar: cheap price and familiar service!

Matteo and Patrizia are the managers of this resto. Very friendly couple of Italian people. We passed 3 great evenings there, sometimes just for a drink, sometimes to eat.
Deco is a bit cheap and simple (sand on the ground), food is tasty and frugal, but prices are really democratics, the service is always done with kindness.
If you are lucky, you will see their cute children sleeping under the mosquito net.
