Went to this place as it was near where we parked. Busy place which is always good. Small tables. Very basic presentation with good value meals. So a nice change instead of fast food lol
They definitely get them in and out here

Terrible service. Rice dishes are too dry, as if they reheated the old rice. Our group ordered various beef and chicken dishes, both meats were way over-cooked and so dry and tough that we couldn't even finish the dishes. I am Asian, I know my Asian food!! Also, all other Vietnamese restaurants in Richmond as well as Springvale offer complimentary soups for rice dishes, but when we asked for one, the waitress flatly refused saying the soups cost extra. Also, when asked for serviettes or tea, the waiters just gave a nod, not even bothering to say a simple "sure" or "ok". Will never come here again.

Our experience of this restaurant was positive in all aspects. We chose this restaurant on the recommendation of a Vietnamese lady, who originally hails from Halong Bay in Vietnam, when we asked her where she thought we could find a restaurant with authentic Vietnamese food.

Recently we had returned from a trip to Vietnam and so were keen to repeat the enjoyable food we had experienced whilst there. So far we have not been able to recreate that sense of pleasure that we found in Vietnam itself.

Thanh Ha 2 has an extensive menu and we shall attempt to explore it again and savour other dishes from the ones we tried on this occasion. The prices did seem higher than other restaurants in the area but the food was good, and moreover most plentiful. Each dish served was most generous in proportion and not meagre. The house tea was also very good.

We enjoyed a serve of prawn rice paper rolls, a Vietnamese cole slaw with shredded chicken, a spicy beef dish with tomato rice and a plate of garlic laden gai lan. The latter dish of Chinese broccoli was sublime, laced with lots of minced and larger pieces of garlic that had been stir fried. Texturally all of the dishes could not be faulted. The flavours were good, but not quite as sharp as some we had tried when in Vietnam itself. Perhaps the difference being local ingredients, Vietnamese vs Australian produce. In particular the Vietnamese Cole Slaw, I felt, could have had more elements of flavour than it did, mostly the dressing, it was very sweet and missed the salty and sharp elements expected from it.

Our bill for lunch came to $57, this included one Vietnamese Beer.

The venue was clean, our waiters were good at their job, the ambience of the place was better than other Vietnamese restaurants I have been to in the past, with the exception of Vietnam itself. Thanh Ha 2 fills up very quickly.

I would recommend this restaurant as a good choice to visit and will go there again.

Eaten in Victoria Street dozens of times but always on the other side of Lennox Street. We ventured a little west of there this time and discovered Thanh Ha No 2.

At the outset, I must say it's a bit more pricey than it's competitors up the road - a Beef Pho for example is $12 compared to about $5 - 8. But it does have just a touch more class than some of the others and perhaps as a result, is very popular among both Asian and non-Asian diners. In fact, it was so busy the night we were there they were sending patrons away.

The service is fine and the food is very good, which in the end is all that matters. The Vietnamese coleslaw is among the best we've ever had and we loved the little prawn cracker cups it came with. The pancakes were very very popular. All in all, a good spot.
