“Some very tasty Nepalese food ...”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Four of us had the pleasure of eating at Gurkha's in Bridge Rd, Richmond. It was through a voucher, but did not seem to make a difference to the food or service! The food was very tasty, flavoursome and not too spicy. Servings were generous and favourites were the Lentil, Pumpkin, Chickpea and Goat dishes. Definitely worth a visit if you like the tastes of West Asia.

“Decent, Modest Nepalese Restaurant in Richmond”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Four of us ate at Gurkha's in Bridge Rd, Richmond this evening (there are five other branches of this min chain in other areas of Melbourne). Food was more than decent. Large servings, fragrant sauces, generous portions of prawns, fish, goat and chicken. The rice served as a side dish was disappointing though - overly dry, clumped and lacking in taste. The only serious problem was with the service. Our young server seemed to know very little about the food and when she couldn't answer even the simplest question about what was in some of the dishes she quickly disappeared without explanation. She could easily have said that she 'would find out'. The prices for entrees and main dishes were very reasonable and the restaurant is both licensed and BYO.

“Great food here”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

There are a few of these Brasserie's around Melbourne but we went to the one in
Richmond and the food was beautiful...the staff are very attentive without being intrusive and the restaurant has a lovely ambience. We started off with curry puffs that were lovely and crisp and not the least bit greasy, then followed this off with a vegetarian curry and a beef dish plus steamed rice...everything was cooked to perfection and the meat melted in your mouth. Definitely value for money here.
