“A week at Amora”
Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Just had a lovely weeks break and the Amora has once again exceeded all expectations.as a regular guest it is great to see the standard remains the benchmark.Right from the front desk welcome from Mr John Tolis through to the restraunts and housekeeping staff we were made to feel comfortable and at ease.Hard to see us ever changing to anywhere else in Melbourne anytime soon.

If you want great service at a reasonable price look no further.

We visited Melbourne for a friend’s birthday party and as it was to be held in a boutique brewery we decided to stay at Amora next to the picturesque Yarra Riverwalk – just a few blocks away.
After a speedy checkin, Melbourne turned on its trademark winter weather – cold, wet and windy and predictably, our taxi did not arrive, so we were stranded, dressed in our finery - until Duty Manager Garry came to the rescue and drove us to our venue.
The Amora has been refurbished and we were fortunate to be allocated a room at the rear near the river which had no road or tram noise. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean, our shower warm and bed was very comfortable. Our package included parking and breakfast and despite our late start, the full breakfast was hot and a full selection was still available.
Well done Amora, with special thanks to Garry. We could not fault our stay in any way.

Room Tip: Bridge Road has a tram - ask for a room at the back

Dear croftonMelbourne,
Thank you for your kind words and review. I will be sure to pass on your thanks to Garry and the team. Maybe next time we hope the weather is a little warmer and you could take the opportunity to walk (or ride, using our complimentary bicycles) along the Yarra River.
We hope to see you again soon.
Kind Regards,

We stayed here for two nights in June and had a fabulous time. We puchased a deal that included a balcony room and complimentary breakfast and a bottle of wine and cheese in the bar and we felt extremely spoilt. It was lovely. The service was great , nothing was too hard for any of the staff. We rode the complimentary bikes along the Yarra and took in the sights of all the beautiful old mansions. The tram to and from the city stops directly out the front of the hotel so need for your car. And the Bridge hotel directly across the road was a great feed. Fantastic stay. We will definately stay here again. Well worth every cent. Thank you staff at Amora.

We spent a week at the Amora whilst in town for the British Lions Rugby tour. The hotel is in great spot close to the Yarra river whilst only a short tram ride into the city. Bridge Road has plenty of coffee shops and restaurants wth a real 'bohemian' feeling and mixture of cuisines.
Our two bedroom apartment was well appointed very clean and comfortable. The balcony was a nice extra and with perfect weather we were able to sit out early evening with a 'cold-one'. The hotel has an arrangement with a local leisure centre just 10 mins walk away behind Richmond town Hall and free to hotel residents. They have a 50m indoor swimming pool which I used almost every day, a super facility.
The hotel staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful. We had a problem with out Test Match tickets having been sent to Brisbane in error and were talking with staff on a daily basis as we chased couriers for delivery. The front desk staff were considerate and helpful and genuinely as chuffed as us when the tickets finally appeared!
A seperate issue referred by us to the General manager was dealt with promptly and efficiently confirming our view that this is a very well run customer service focussed hotel which we would not hesitate to recommend.

Thank you Amora and staff for a great stay. From the warm welcoming and lovely balcony view I really had a good time. Location is perfect for wandering up bridge st. So many choices on restaurants of every ethnic cuisine to the shopping you can do. The tram located right at your door for an easy 1 stop ride to the city in minutes . Included in our stay was breakfast of many choices , hot and cold and even pancakes. Was welcomed on my birthday with a bottle of wine waiting in my room, thank you so much. The queen bed was nice and a couch to lounge as well . Football on the big screen in the downstairs bar area and just a nice atmosphere. I have stayed here before and loved it just as much. Very clean and accommodating . This is my pick for Melbourne, don't hesitate!!

Spent New Years Eve at this hotel for 3 years. Rooms are spacious and very well kept. Staff are very curtious and helpfull. Was the best place to be New Years Eve. Breakfast was really good and Tram stops right outside the door so just park and go. Loved it.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms would be good. They all overlook the courtyard

My wife and I stayed here the other night. We were quite surprised at how nice and well kept the property was. You can see that they take pride in their appearance and keep the property nicely maintained.
It has nice modern spacious rooms that all have balconies facing the internal courtyard which looks out to the river.
There is also an elegant restaurant, an open bar and large function rooms.
The beds have nice quality fresh linen and were very comfortable to sleep in. The bath robes however looked a bit sorry, they were cotton waffle robes that had shrunk, I could not fit in mine..lol.
My biggest gripe was the size ( or lack of ) the television sets. These flat screens are just one size up from a computer monitor. Really pathetic. They were the smallest ones I have ever seen in an upmarket hotel room.
But that aside, it is actually a very nice hotel , and I would recommend it.

There are also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby for the more adventurous.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at the Amora Hotel Riverwalk Melbourne.

It was great to hear that you enjoyed your stay. I will certainly look into the bath robes that you have mentioned. We are continually replacing these so we will review this programme.

I am also pleased to advise that we will be upgrading our televisions to a 42 inch screen in the near future.

Again thank you for taking the time to review our hotel.

We hope to welcome you back in the near future.
