“Nice hotel, liked position and personal service”
Reviewed July 10, 2011

My husband and I stayed here for only one night as we had a party on in a nearby hotel. I liked the size of Amora, felt a bit more personal than the larger hotels and I found the staff to be nice, even with a sense of humor.
I must say though we got one of the very few rooms with no balcony to speak of at all which was a shame as it would have been nice to sit outside and have a drink. It was cold so didn't bother us too much but if it was nice weather it would be really annoying considering I booked a room expecting to be able to enjoy a bit of outdoors. I would have asked to be moved if it wasn't in the middle of winter.
I loved the big bar area and we sat down there for a while for a couple of drinks before going out.
We didn't have time to make the most of it but the hotel is on a River with nice walking/riding track out front.
The buffet was OK, pretty small area, so glad we got there early before all the kids arrived!
The rooms are not very sound proof so can be a little noisy if people outside in the corridoor, but we were late home so didn't bother us too much.
Overall I think it is a lovely hotel and would stay again if in the area. I think it has very reasonable rates also.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with a table and chairs on your balony.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to transportation. We found it easy to travel to football stadium, shopping, and sightseeing. The free bike rentals and the availability od restaurants within walking distance were a bonus.

Concierge service was great and included tram ticket sales and tour planning. The room was a little small for 3 people with the sofa bed open.

We stayed at the Riverwalk Amora for a weekend city getaway. The location is very good only a skip and a jump away from good places to eat and shop. The hotel itself looks very nice on the inside. Our room was clean and had everything we expected to be in it. We had the queen room which overlooked the courtyard. Probably the best option considering the traffic noise from bridge road gets somewhat drowned out a tad. The buffet breakfast in the morning was tasty. Lots of options to keep most ppl satisfied. Overall we had a nice stay and would stay again but my only thumbs down would be on the saturday night a wedding reception was being held in the courtyard. It was quite loud when the band started playing and although it did stop at around 10.30pm we recieved no warning on the webpage when we were booking that this would be going on and only found out when we checked into the hotel. So I suggest anyone booking first ask what events r taking place

We stayed at the Amora Riverwalk Richmond for four nghts for a weekend that combined business with catching up with family and shopping. Staff were extremely helpful at all times, even organising a doctor one day when required.
The hotel is located next to a park along the river, no more than 6 kilometres from the CBD area of Melbourne, so it was only about $20 cab fare or via a short ride for less than $4 in the tram to the city. Bridge Road is virtually a continuation of Flinders Street so its easy to get your bearings and navigate. Cabs also arrived quickly as there is a depot close by. The hotel also has bikes for guests to use which is an unusual extra.
The room was more spacious than we expected, with a big couch and ottoman, and appeared to have been renovated quite recently. Bathroom was very clean and had floor to ceiling tiling and modern fittings. Bed was very comfortable with a pillow menu offered, as well as a selection already on the bed. Our room 301 was quiet - it faced the courtyard which is probably preferable to facing Bridge Rd which has the trams and carries a lot of traffic. The room had glass sliding doors oening onto its own large balcony facing the park at the end of the courtyard.
As a location, Bridge Road has a lot to recommend - great selection of cafes, restaurants and bars - we ate well at the Bouzy Rouge - spanish/french cuisine with great service. Plenty of trendy bakeries like Chimmeys, or Gypsy & Musquite offering good coffee and interesting breakfast-lunch menus, as well as lots of shops and boutiques.
I would stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it as an alternative to a city hotel.

Room Tip: Courtyard facing unless there is a wedding booked.

Stayed here from Easter Sunday until April 26. Staff were helpful and knowlegdeable.

Restaurant staff were obliging and friendly. Food quality was just average with good variety.

Very handy with trams right out the front. Good car parking.

The shower screen was the only thing I would change. It is way too short and as a consequence water sprays out all over the bathroom floor. This is VERY dangerous as the floor becomes slippery and treacherous. Maybe you should provide additional towels / mats to compensate.

Great proximity to town for the Anzac March and the MCG for the football.

My partner and I got an awesome deal from Expedia for the Grand Prix weekend. I really liked the Bridge Rd, Richmond. Our Room didn't include breakfast but that wasn't a problem as there are lots of beautiful cafe on Bridge Rd, just a few minutes walk from the hotel. I loved staying on Bridge Rd as it has affordable and fashionable shopping, Trendy Cafes and Great Bars and restaurants. The tram stop, was out the front and it was easy to catch this to Melbourne CBD or down to Chapel Street. We found this out ourselves as the front desk was much help with directions.

The room was large and had been recently renovated and was very clean.
The bathroom is equally as nice.
Lot's wallboard with of coat hangers and a good iron in each room ( I think this is quiet important ).

My only downfall is that the hotel restaurant looked dated and not very inviting. So we didn't eat there... but as mention before, bridge Rd has alot of restaurants.

I have stayed at the Amora Jemison, Sydney and I must say this hotel is a 100% better!

Thanks Expedia for the great deal!

FYI - It cost $70-80 each way for a cab to and from the airport.

Room Tip: check out Expedia for a great deal
