From the moment we rode up to the gates we knew we'd found a slice of heaven! Staying at The Burrow was like catching up with long lost friends. Sue and Bill were so open, warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The cottage itself was well stocked, clean, cosy and comfortable with everything we could possibly need for our 2 night stay. Loved the scented candles and all the books! The 2 course meal with a local wine for dinner was delicious as were the more than adequate breakfast provisions and fresh herbs from the garden. The cheese platter, port and chocolates were a delightful surprise. The setting is stunning - a credit to the hosts. Lots of wildlife and picture perfect views An excellent location ideal for scenic motorbike rides. Will visit again - can't wait to see the dogs too!
Very cosy retreat for couples, generously catered for by Sue and Bill. Lovely atmosphere, quiet, relaxing and full of nature (birds, wombats and Airedale terriers!). Highly recommended! Look no further!
Wonderful place to stay if you want a lovely and peaceful holiday. It is a hidden gem in Yarra Valley, that can be a good base to explore the surrounding area. The house is very cosy, and the hosts are so considerate and friendly. We definitely recommend this place to others.
My partner and I were very relaxed on our weekend away
We enjoyed the surroundings and our lovely hosts and found our hosts to be very accommodating and made us feel right at home
Our cabin was exactly what we needed to escape the real world, even if it was just for one night
The meals were delectable and we were so amazed at the quality and variety that Sue & Bill catered too
Sitting on the balcony, watching the sun go down, enjoying a red wine and listening to nature was nothing less than spectacular
Thank you so much for having us
The burrow exceeded our expectations the moment we drove in and saw the most beautiful billabong. The property Sue & Bill have created is breathtaking and what is more special is their story of of 40+ years of hard work to create their vision.
The cottage has so much charm and character that you feel the moment you walk in. It has everything you need from a perfect balcony overlooking the billabong to enjoy a wine, kitchen with a full pantry, very comfortable bed, robes and candles.
Sue & Bill are very generous hosts who left us local cheese to enjoy on arrival and the breakfast provisions were the best we have ever had. It was great to meet them and hear their story, they are both so warm and genuine.
We will be back!
We were looking for a weekend in the Yarra Valley, wineries on the Saturday, Healesville Sanctuary on the Sunday. Perfectly situated for both, we liked the sound of The Burrow but it exceeded all expectations. A wonderful welcome, a cosy home away from home, on the edge of a billabong with nature literally on the doorstep. Our stay all too brief, we will be back, for longer next time.
Although only here for 1 night we were made very welcome. Our hosts, Sue & Bill are delightful and fascinating people and nothing was too much trouble. The environment is blissful! Thanks!
