We stayed a week at this wonderful lodge. The individual floating cabins are very spacious, bright and comfortable. The food is incredible and varied- very impressive considering the remote location. The experience was great from the start to finish. Our guide made every attempt to make sure that our outings were special. We saw a lot of wildlife during our stay including the Uakari monkey on our fifth day. We thought we were extremely lucky to see a whole troupe at a relatively good distance. During our stay we also briefly spotted a harpy eagle- very rare. This lodge gives you the opportunity to really commune with nature unlike other lodges located too closely to Manaus. The outings were very informative and educational. We spotted pink and grey dolphins, various types of monkeys, heard the pirarucu under our cabin, observed the caiman near the property and enjoyed the sight of numerous species of birds. The visits to local communities were also very worthwhile. Overall,
this lodge represents great value for money for those who want to really experience the Amazon. We'd love to return.

Room Tip: All cabins are the same.

Wow! What an experience! We dreamed of seeing the amazon, but never imagined it would be this awesome. If you are looking for the best nature viewing on the planet, uakari is the only place to go. It is not for the tourist at heart, but if you are looking for the true amazon experience, this place will blow your mind. The staff was extremely knowledgeable. The lodge was in a pristine environment. We saw everything we wanted to see. It was a perfect honeymoon!

The Uacari Lodge is a truly amazing place. If you want to experience the real Amazon, where it's still pristine and untamed: go here. It's not so easy to get there, but once you're there, you'll have an unforgettable experience. The staff is very very helpful and friendly, and care about individual wishes you might have. The food is good, the lodge is clean and nice and the location is simply fantastic. A true eco-lodge. The money you pay, is not for some rich boss, but goes directly into the eco project. All the trips we made were spectaculair. On top of that, our stay was also educational. We got interesting presentations about the Marimaua Reserve and we visited researchers who know all about the flora and fauna. The Marimaua Reserve is packed with animals. We saw lots of caimans, piracurus, howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, uacari monkeys, river dolphins, sloths, bats, tarantulas, and many many birds like hoatzins and macaws. Simply amazing! The Uacari Lodge is a remote place, away from civilization, and gives you a chance to experience nature at its purest. I highly recommend it!

My journey here, planned through BrasilAventuras, was fantastic. The setting is superb and the wildlife is fantastic - just stand outside on the deck at night and listen to the amazing chorus of frogs, insects, and hear the splashing of Arowana, Pirarucu, and Caiman. In the early morning Red Howler Monkeys launch up their amazing chorus, and with luck a trek in the forest may allow you to encounter the rare White Uakari, the monkey after which the pousada is named. For wildlife, for birds, for a jungle experience, this is a wonderful friendly place and in a very special reserve. For the truly amazing experience of being deep in the forest, with primates, river dolphins, birds and fish in abundance, at a friendly place with great staff, I give this place 5*, the only reason I have rated the property as a 3* is that being dispassionate for a moment it is an unpretentious, very simple lodge with no frills. Don't miss the boat trip to the Mamirauá lagoon, its great. Even rainstorms here are a fantastic experience.

Room Tip: They are all good - they face out onto the river with great views of the forest. This is a floating...

I stayed with a friend at Uakari Lodge and had an unforgettable experience. Uakari Lodge is not for the faint of heart - getting there involves a flight to Manaus, then to Tefe, then an hour and a half boat ride to the lodge itself. When you are there, you have to be up at 6 as your tour begin at 7.30am to avoid the midday heat. But it is completely worth it. The guides at Uakari are absolutely excellent and we saw so much wildlife - pink river dolphins, monkeys galore, toucans, macaws, caiman, sloths... as we were there during the rainy season, our guides paddled us into the flooded forest in canoes, which was truly an incredible experience. The food is excellent given that the lodge is essentially in the middle of nowhere- fresh fish, chicken, rice, lots of fruit. And I can honestly say that it is the best night's sleep I have ever had - total darkness, and only the frogs to be heard. Coming from stressed out NY, it was heaven! Many thanks to the fantastic team at Uakari (especially Bianca) for a wonderful experience. Travellers take note - the mosquitoes in the Amazon will bite through your clothes, so make sure you spray repellent everywhere. The heat can get quite oppressive too, so hats, sunscreen and bottled water are essential.

I'm a naturalist guide and visit many different places in Brazil. I strongly recommend Uakari Floating Lodge. Their base is on three aspects: responsability with the natural resources, increase the life quality of the people and research.
The staff is very friendly, the activities are incredible and the food very good. For sure is one of the best places in Amazon to spot animals.
Go there and you will not regrett.
