Wonderful historic house built in 1919 in Grand Bank, famous for its fishery, set up as bed and breakfast.
Serene and peaceful with upper outside deck overlooking the bay/ocean. Widow's walk upstairs adds to historic charm.
Hosts John and Gerry offered 25$ four course meal, vichysoise soup, cod with shrimp and fresh vegetables, salad and amazing home made lemon tart, excellent value and a cut above what would be available at a local restaurant. Breakfast consisted of selection of yoghourt, cereal, OJ, tea/coffee, toast and poached eggs with fishcakes. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions just mention when you book. Beer and wine are available at good prices.
Rooms are large, well kept and clean. Ask for the front facing honeymoon suite with large claw foot bathtub and shower and view over the bay.
Given the age of the house, there are always some things that need upkeep and the outside is currently being repainted but all amenities were in good working order.
There are two friendly dogs but if you should not want them around, they can easily be kept away.
A little bit of peace in this hectic world.
