Description: The South Okanagan has gained a well deserved reputation as a desirable destination for tourists seeking an agricultural and culinary experience. The Sonora Room at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery features prominently in this regard with its epicurean excellence, superb service, relaxed style and scenic splendour. The restaurant overlooks 146 acres of picturesque vineyard from the patio or inside the warm and inviting dining room. The philosophy of the talented culinary team is to embrace the opportunity to showcase many of the South Okanagan’s local producers. Dishes are created that utilize an array of local organic produce, seasonal fruits and artisan cheeses, and pair perfectly with Burrowing Owl's award winning wines. The exclusive wine list includes a selection of Burrowing Owl's current vintages, and library wines that are no longer publicly available for sale. Creative cuisine, impeccable service and a beautiful venue highlight the great agricultural diversity of the region.

Having been to the Sonoran Room many times, my expectations of the restaurant are quite high. We were seated on an outside table with a gorgeous view. The service was excellent and attention to detail is outstanding. The food, while very good, took quite a long time to be served. I also miss the menu which used to change depending on the season. It seems as it has stagnated and now is the same whenever you go. I recommend the duck leg confit appetizer as a main course dish. I do miss the seasonal menu changes. Still, a very good restaurant.

We enjoyed a snack & of course wine here. Loved the pesto hummus & black olive tapenade. The flight of 2007 reds were awesome, however be aware are not available for sale in the wine shop (quite a disappointment!). They even have a kids menu & coloring if you have small kids with you.

With dinner already reserved in another of the Okanagan's wineries, we didn't want too heavy a lunch. The Burrowing Owl provided the perfect meal in a beautiful setting with a wonderful view of the valley floor. We shared a great plate of antipasti - salamis, cheeses, pickles, bread, crackers, fruit, nuts etc and a carafe of their Meritage. It was all imaginatively flavoured and put together, beautifully presented and faultlessly served. A very simple lunch, but one very much to remember

I visited the restaurant, with great expectations and that's what I received. A great duck and a divine soup with bursting flavours. I suggest you stop by for this delightful experience.

We had lunch at the Burrowing Owl on our anniversary. Great Grille Chicken Sandwich with salad and glass of white wine. Prices are a bit more pricey here but the service and views were excellent. We climbed up the tower before our lunch came out. Great views from there. We ate out on the deck. We went and had a few tastings at the wine shop after lunch.
