“Best fusion chinese/pub resturant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2014

Extremely friendly service, run by a family from hong kong, great fusion oriental chinese food. Very interesting flavours with typical ingrients but cooked crispy meat and mixed with pinnapples and vegetables.
Bugers and fries also on menu. Lovely place, would go again if I could.

“Tasty”

The restaurant had a new Chinese section on the menu and it was quite tasty and I ordered it for 2 of the 3 dinners we ate there.

“Nickel and dime burger”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

Burger was OK, but hate it when they nickel and dime you. Burger was only patty and bun. Anything above that had to be ordered extra. End result was not bad, but why make it so complicated?
For a lunch in the sun, not bad after all.

“A VANCOUVER CHEF OWNS & OPERATES THIS GEM !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

The fastest servers on the planet. The greatest Chinese Food in B.C..Indoor & outdoor dining & drinking. A nice large room for bus tours, seating for around 40 passengers, with extra room thru a door in a glassed in area overlooking their outdoor patio which is under a GIANT Maple Tree of sorts. Tree is probably several hundred years old, & about 30" high, covers entire courtyard. Their breakfast features anything & everything you could imagine, both hot, & cold, including fresh B.C. Fruit & fresh fruit juices, unlimited coffee, milk, toast, eggs, freshly made hashbrowns, bacon, sausages, ham, etc...The food is rapidly cooked & delivered by waitresses who literally run from kitchen to each person. The new owner (of 2 years now) is a former Chef from a major popular restaurant in Vancouver. Her husband commutes back & forth several times per month to help her renovate the Motel which houses the restaurant, & they have made remarkable progress. This was our 4th Year "Ghost Town Tour" of the West Kootenay's, & the last two were definately the best at the property now that she has taken over. We're going back again for the 5th annual next August 2014. We visit the "historic ghost towns" on this educational tour guided by Pastor George Takashima & his wife Peggy from Lethbridge, Ab.Canada. Tour includes return transportation, admissions to attractions, many meals, 2 nights at BW Nelson, 1 night New Denver, 1 night Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort including pool passes & phenominal dining for dinner & breakfast, plus a Ferry Ride on the way home. Contact Stephen F. Kotch Jr. for more assistance booking.

“perhaps should of had the Chinese food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

we came to this restuarant as a group and sat outside on the patio area.
We ordered typical "western" pub type fare which was good. The portion sizes and food quality were good.

Next time will have to try the Chinese menu.

However keep in mind that this restuarant closed at 8 pm on busy July Saturday night. Given that New Denver is a tiny little town make sure you don't arrive late. Unusually we saw the owners turn away several people who arrived shortly after 8 pm. Odd given that this town of 500 people mostly relies on summer tourists.
