We loved it! The manager told us to expect winter opening in the future, so check it out for winter activities.
Architecturally unique and in a beautiful location. Due to heavy demand we stayed one night in a room in the main building and one night in a "cottage" so we can review both. Prices were very reasonable.
The room was small, extremely clean, and good value. Shared, spacious bathrooms down the hall - we never had to wait in spite of a full house. Bathrooms big enough for two to shower together - nice after a dusty day's hiking. Shared kitchen so you could cook for yourself, store lunch foods etc.
Cottage was much larger with good sized bathroom and a small kitchen area. Again, spotlessly clean and well equipped.
Note: neither room came with a TV. There is a shared hot tub in the garden. Each cottage has a small patio.
Next door is a brand new grocery store. Down the road a short way are restaurants, coffee shops etc.

Room Tip: The cottages are larger and more private.

Dome Quixote is a marvellous twist on traditional lodging. The buildings themselves are unique and the atmosphere is very European, a good thing from our perspective. The rooms are cute and the common areas are excellent, creating an environment where you get to meet your fellow travellers.
The one blemish is the fact that the materess was terrible. Of course we don't know if this was just our room or the entire hotel but a restful sleep was not to be had as a result. New, non-saggy materesses would make Dome Quixote an absolute winner.

This is the best choice for a hotel in New Denver and the Slocan Valley and our second time staying here. It is a quaint centre for other activities--hiking, mtn biking, or just car touring. There is a choice of rooms with private or shared baths and use of a communal kitchen. Great for preparing your breakfast and lunch for the day hike. If you are travelling as a family, try one of the self contained domes. If it is not too hot outside, try the jaccuzi. Make sure that you visit the Japanese Internment Memorial while there. Too many people miss out on the Slocan Valley which is in the Western Kootenays.

We arrived at Dome Quixote after three nights of camping and were looking forward to a comfortable bed and a relaxing location. We were not disappointed. We stayed in Dome # 3 for two night in August. The dome was spotless and the bed and furnishings were comfortable. The kitchenette was equipped with everything you need. There were nice touches like organic coffee and teas and a good selection of reading materials. The dome has an outdoors eating area. The dome was cool, and quiet and at night you could hear the near by creek. The staff were very helpful and the location was very convenient as a base for day hikes or to go to the beach. The hotel is well landscaped with lavender and other flowers and there is a lodge with a reading room as well as a yoga dome.

We will return here.

There is a choice of individual cottages or shared accommodation here. We had our own cottage and it was very spacious. Nice kitchenette complete with organic coffee. All the windows open so you can have lots of fresh air. Each cottage has its own outside "patio" with table and chairs. The location is fantastic - a short walk away from everything in New Denver. Even for my 85 year old mum, nothing was too far for her to walk to. If you need something for your room, just ask - they probably have it at the front desk. I highly recommend this place for a holiday or overnight stay.

Room Tip: The bed was fantastic, but the sofa couch-bed wasn't so make sure you ask about that when bookin...

Our bicycle touring group, 15 in all, used the Villa Dome Quixote as our final night's stay on a Victoria Day Weekend tour of British Columbia's "Silver Triangle" route (a.k.a. "Silvery Slocan").

This is a quasi-hotel / quasi-hostel. Most of the rooms have bathroom down the hall. Arguably there are enough facilities so no-one had to wait.

Price is VERY reasonable. Half way between a HI hostel and a motel.

We arrived to find our rooms not only assigned, but the names of the room-mates posted on sticky-notes on the doors! They gave us a guided tour of the uniquely designed parabolic dome architecture.

They very kindly accommodated one of our members' request to park his vehicle for the tour's duration.

One minor quibble: of all the four places we stayed in the Central Kootenays, there was not a covered storage area for bicycles. Apart from that the management are very bicycle conscious: petitioning BC Highways to improve the local highways for cycling.

Rooms (which are pie shaped) were simple but nice, mattresses were in good shape, well stocked with towels for the hot tub. Shared bathrooms are quite large, modern and well kept.

The sitting room on the second level of the main dome is a wonderful, funky place to sit, chill and chat. Some say the domed architecture has a calming influence. It certainly has "dome" acoustics ... a whisper on one side comes through loud and clear 180 degrees away.

The hot tub is a VERY nice touch for tired cyclists.

The kitchen and food preparation area, downstairs in the main dome, is small although it accommodated serving 15 of us breakfast. Fortunately the sunny skies allowed spreading-out to the back porch to sit and eat.
