For those people looking for a nice stopover on a ride, this is just the place to do it. The Valhalla Inn is nestled in New Denver on Highway 6 on the edge of Slocan Lake. New owners are learning the ropes of managing the hotel and have been in the process of upgrading the building which was built some 40 years ago. The rooms are clean and tidy and there is a restaurant where the atmosphere is friendly and the food not too bad. The rooms are large, beds solid and comfortable and have a small bar fridge and complimentary coffee which is replenished daily.

For those who want to have a game of eightball or watch a game on TV, there is also a bar on the other end which is the only one for 30 miles. There is a lot of history in this area to explore - it was one of the areas where the Japanese were interned during the second world war. Fishing is close by at Slocan Lake as is the swimming hole.

Great facility for small group meetings. Hotel rooms are spacious and newly renovated. Some rooms have separate bedroom and small kitchen... great for family stays. Small private room inside restaurant that can hold 20 people for team building or company meeting. Restaurant can arrange group meals and speical dinner (we had Chinese theme dinner). Facility is only one block away from the lake. Retail stores and churches next to facility. Friendly staff and great value.

Room Tip: Family can stay in a suite with small kitchen and living area. Ask for meal packages and restaurant can arrange breakfast and special Chinese dinner.

What a pleasant person to greet you as you enter. As it turned out as we were talking we had talked to each other at a trade show a while back. The room was big and very comfortable. Asked about breakfast and dinner and she said even though I was leaving early in the morning she would have breakfast for me.Then she said she would be happy to make a special Chinese dinner. She did and it was wonderfull.

Stayed for the weekend. Great experience. Different room types to choose from. Restaurant and pub open late with good food and great prices. Only a block away from the lake. Retail stores and grocery store just around the corner. Two churches for Sunday masses less than 5 mins away. Great weekend getaway with family.

Room Tip: Ask to see different room types for this property. Great value for family getaway.

Great location for snowmobiling. Spent 2 nights with the ski package... it is great value!! I was told they just renovated, so all the rooms are new.Nothing wrong with maintenance or decor.1 bedroom suite with stove, microwave, separate living room and bedroom was spacious and very clean. The Front Desk and Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was excellent
Overall We are very happy with the stay. Will be back.
