Our experience in this campround has not been a good one. We live in this town, and work on Savary Island, just across from Lund. We frequent this campsite simply because it is the only campsite in Lund, and it is closer to commute from there to work in the summer, and get some camping in as well. We find that although the owners Ron and Ann, appear friendly and welcoming, that that is not really the case. Our experience has showed us that they really do not want to do any work at all, so if they could be closed all year long, I am sure they would. They want you to go check in to the office immediately, even if you know where your site is, and hurry up and pay before you even get parked. Like I said before, we frequent this campsite, so they know us, but yet insist that we take care of the legalities immmediately, with no time to get set up first. Then comes the evening when you are listening to the low strum of a guitar by the campfire, when she tells us "its quiet time" and insists we all be very quiet. The park is usually quite empty when she says these things, and often tells us that others complained about the noise, when in fact they didnt. She uses that line on a lot of the campers. They refused to cut down the tent catapillers that were dropping all over the picnic tables, chairs RV's etc. this year during the shellfish weekend in Lund. They should have been dealt with before the park opened for the season, but that would be work, now wouldnt it? We wanted to come into the park at 7:30 am one morning before work, but they dont want to get up before 9 am to open the gate, so we either had to come the night before, and pay for an extra night, or wait til later for them to open up for the day. Meanwhile its an unlocked gate that we could have opened and closed behind us, and checked in after work. They recenty told us that if we wanted to camp there with 3 other units, that we had to be quiet or go elsewhere. Again, need to reinterate, we have never been that noisy, they just dont want ANY sound after 10pm, but its okay if she plays her bagpipes every night, and sounds terrible! They have lost long time customers with us, our many friends and hopefully everyone else I can tell. They dont want you there anyways, they just want your money. Dont give them any, as they dont earn it anyway! There are many reasons why we dont like the owner Ann, but the biggest reason they have lost our business, is because when we told them we were not coming back, though we generate a lot of business for them, they really didnt mind. Wow, They must be making good money somewhere else, because that park is usually empty, so to turn down a lot of revenue, is foolish and insulting! Shelby Degaag/MD & S CONTRACTNG LTD.
