Description: A traditional country inn full of antiques, we provide homemade, locally sourced cuisine, 7 days and evenings a week. With a succulent roast served daily, and a breakfast, lunchtime and evening menu provided, we truly are the place to dine when you're looking for great home cooked food. The best restaurant in the Vale of Glamorgan is right here!We serve real ales and often have local ale on sale. Italian coffee is also available and a selection of soft drinks and juices for the young ones. As one of the premier restaurants in Cowbridge, we can seat up to 90 people and cater to anniversaries, birthdays and also funeral receptions. We also have a beer garden suitable for children and dogs, and a cosy indoor environment with a woodburner. You can also enjoy the comforts of home with free Wi-Fi connection. Dogs are also welcome in the bar area. Since 2013 we offer 4 star accommodation B&B with 4 modern en-suite king and superking bedrooms.

“Don't ask for Steak!”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

Have visited this pub many times over the years and always had excellent food and service, until a visit a couple of weeks ago, my husband ordered a steak(which he has done many many times before) to be cooked rare to medium, all was well until the waitress went into kitchen and passed order to 'Chef'. The manner in which he spoke to her was not acceptable asking in a very loud stern manner ''how does he want it rare or medium'' this uncomfortable loud conversation went on for a few minutes. If a 'chef' can't cook a steak rare to medium what faith do you have in other food that he cooks. My Husband promptly cancelled his meal. The lady behind the bar and waitress came and apologised when we explained why we were cancelling, you do not want to hear a slagging match over how you request your meal to be cooked. We now have reservations about going back again, which is very sad as it is such a lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere.

Reviewed May 3, 2012

Cooked really well but pricey for the amount given. Still hungary when it tasted so nice could have given more veg to bulk the plate. Good staff.

“Village Pub & Restaurant”
Reviewed December 26, 2011

We go there regularly. Food portions are massive, have varied menu and very reasonable price. Most of the evening visit needs a prior phone call. Very hospitable and have good ale.

Reviewed October 3, 2011

i went here on a monday night in june and it was terrible the service was shocking the food looked like it had been thrown on a plate by a old women doing school dinners all you could here coming from the kitchen was the sounds of microwaves where i think food had been made cooked frozen down then reheated or defrosted in a microwave !! which in my eyes in just pure lazyness and no talent from the kitchen staff atall cut the long story short in 30 years of my marrage i have never been for a worse meal in my life or been in a worse atmosphere would i recommend to any one the answer not even my dog
