Description: Ten miles from Cardiff, in the historic market town of Cowbridge, you'll find Huddarts Restaurant. It's worth the trip. Inside the beautiful Georgian house, dating back to 1756 you'll find a delighful intimate restaurant boasting a selection of A La Carte dishes with a marriage of old time charm and modern splendour. Since 1996 all produce has been sourced as much as possible locally and prepared on the premises by owner chef Andrew Huddart, front of house is looked after by his wife Julie.

Fantastic welcome and service by Julie and her team. Food was great (as expected), even though a Sat night we weren't rushed at all and left to dine at our leisure. All in all spent a very enjoyable 3 hours munching our way through a lovely 3-course dinner.
Not expensive as one would imagine and prices have stayed consistent over the past few years without quality sufferring. You get what you pay for and you would definitely pay far more for much less in most major cities.
So give Huddarts a try, you won't be disappointed

Arrived in the puring rain, door opened for us as we stepped in and coats taken from us so efficiently. Extensive menu, so difficult to chose. Beautifully presented, seemed a shame to spoil it by eating it but glad I did, all three courses were excellent, love the veg on the side, so much better than having to pass dishes around and just the right amount. We were served and wine glasses topped up unobtrusively, it is so wonderful to find such good service close to home.
Altogether a wonderful place to have a quiet meal with good service - a rarity.

Visited here with friends whilst in the area for the weekend. Let's keep this brief. Food good but expensive. Have had better for less cost. Decor/layout rather old fashioned and a bit twee. Sorry, but the service really grated. Far too many interruptions and lengthy explanations of the menu. Please just leave some bread on the table & let people decide how much they want. Food was tasty but overall too expensive and too much faffing about.

Having heard very positive reviews, visited to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
Received warmly but found staff overly intrusive with offerings of bread one slice at a time upon request .Starter of pigeon and main of duck left alot to be desired in terms of flavour and both were dry and came with very jam like sauces which were far too sweet. The veg which accompanied the meal similarly lacked flavour .Food was presented beautifully but as an overall dining experience was a great let down.I was hoping to include Huddarts amongst my favourites but sadly I would not recommend it.
