We visited The Bear hotel for a second time and were there during the town's drinks and food festival... It was heaving with people and The Bear was no exception, with a large marquee selling drinks and playing live music... It was great...! Somehow, the staff managed to check us in amid the chaos and we were soon joining in the fun.... We had an excellent stay. Rooms very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and this was very good too. Overall, a very good hotel and recommended...

Stayed here for 1 night for family do at the start of November in a Family room (Double and a single bed). The bed was very comfy and still enough room for us to put up the cot and girls to run around. We ordered sandwiches and chips from room service as we would be eating later. And these were great as was the food we had at the family do in the ball room.
The breakfast the next morning was a buffet, Bacon dry, scrambled egg watery and sausages over cooked and the bread for the toast was a bit on the dry side so all in all a bit disappointing, but the girls were over tried so didn't get to eat much of it anyway.
Would stay here again though if we needed to.

Very good stay with friendly staff and good service. The bar area was welcoming and the breakfast was very good. We we're put in a quite area of the hotel as there was a wedding party staying at the hotel and had a quiet, excellent sleep. We would return to the Bear again

Room Tip: Request a quiet room if wedding party present

Having stayed here many times for business, I was pleased I would be paying another visit to this fine Hotel. We always choose this hotel as its easiest the best in Cowbridge. The car park easily accommodates my large van. Also its free to park and secure too. We was checked in by "Chrissie" (i think that was her name, very pretty) who took care of our payments and told us of a great chinese restaurant to eat. My room was massive with a nice en-suite, It was always clean and tidy on my return each day. Chrissie also sorted out my SKY sports channels on my tv.
Breakfast was always fresh and served fast. Try the scrambled eggs.
The bar area was always busy, food served there was tasty and quite reasonable.
Check out the Leisure center at the rear, well equipped gym.
The Bear Hotel is ideally situated in the middle of Cowbridge, which features some fantastic places to eat and some great pubs too.

Room Tip: For better wifi, ask for rooms over courtyard. Room 5 is the comfiest but no wifi at all.
