The food here is ok - the portions aren't huge and it's not the best seafood I've had for the pretty expensive prices you pay for it! They have a monthly salsa evening though which looks fun and adds some atmosphere.

We had a wonderful lunch on Tuesday with our visitors. The 2 or 3 course menu had agood selection at a very reasonable tarrif, although we all selected from the main a La Cart'e menu.
It was, as always, a most enjoyable meal in a very pleasant ambience.

We had visited Loch Fyne, Cowbridge, on two previous occasions with mixed outcomes and - having experienced appalling service at the more recent visit - only returned for a third visit as a result of receiving Loch Fyne gift vouchers.

This time we visited early on a Saturday evening. The service was exceptionally good and the food could not be faulted. The prices were disproportionately high however (even though the gift vouchers did take the sting out of the overall cost).

Although the overall experience was good, we would probably choose to go elsewhere in future - purely on value for money grounds.................

The service was prompt and friendly but the food was basic and over priced. We went to this specialist sea food restaurant and ordered the cod and chips. We expected something special but when it arrived it was a battered cod with some ordinary chips and a few mushy peas in a small bowl about an inch in radius. The cod was nice but no better than my local faith and chip shop. One big difference though, the Loch Fyne charged £13.75 for basic cod and chips.

Visited for Sunday lunch as set menu looked good for value on internet. As we arrived we were told there was no mackerel and no mussels available it was only 1.30 and the restaurant was not even half full. Wasn't impressed as there were only a select few choices on the set menu to start with, now half the menu wasn't available! I chose potted mackerel with 'warm' bread and my partner had pea and mint soup. My toast was cold and was a waste of a mackerel, it was rather tasteless. The soup was okay. The next course was a salmon salad. The lettuce had wilted and again a waste of a beautiful fish. Was dry and freezing. No sauce just mayo. My partner had the plaice. Couldn't eat half of it as it was full of slime. Recently went to Portugal to a fish supper and know that is not how the fish should be. A waste again of beautiful fish!!! The only good thing where the twice cooked chips. As you gathered pudding was not ordered and we got out of there. Will go to our regular place next time the market place in cowbridge high street. Totally recommend! Loch fyne sort yourself out!
