Stayed here in November along with our springer spaniel. Fantastic to have a very well appointed cosy cottage to return to after a day in the elements.
Our arrival at Katie's Cottage was in classic Scottish summer weather - 50 mile and hour winds, horizontal rain and zero visibility with the thermometer just nudging double figures. The cottage was warm, dry and welcoming and having said cosy (which it is) it is also quite spacious (more than the photos imply). It is well decorated and fitted out, though as with many cottages there is just the right amount of seating in the lounge for the four of us - it doesn't allow for spreading teenagers.
Whilst we didn't come to Skye to watch TV, the 7 days of rain did mean this became an important part (the Olympics were running at the time). Reception is flaky (especially if the weather is rough) so ensure you also bring a good supply of DVD's. The village shop is a short walk down the lane and seems to stock virtually everything imaginable (it is a Tardis) and the surrounds are peaceful as well as beautiful. It is a good base to explore the North of Skye and if the rain had stopped at all it would have been a great base for walks.
Overall a lovely property.

Very clean and tidy....beautiful setting next door to the red roof cafe in glendale. Highly recommend holiday cottage.
Such a fabulous cottage.
We stayed with two small dogs and they loved dashing around the grassy garden.
The views are gorgeous no matter what the weather.
We used the fabulous fire place one evening for warmth which was lovely, the living area is so comfortable with the kitchen and lounge being an open space.
Loved the utility area and shower room downstairs to throw everything off, bung in the wash and keep the dirt out of the downstairs.
The bedrooms are great, plenty of space and a very comfy bed.
The cottage is next to Red Roof Cafe which is a must! They do great platters and AMAZING cakes!
It has easy access to Neist Point and Dunvegan and if you are happy splashing out for a great meal try The Three Chimneys. We had a meal there at the Kitchen Table with two other couples and had a fantastic evening!
Have just returned, fabulous base to relax after busy days walking & sight seeing. Even helped a local crofter feeding the new born orphan lambs. Enjoyed some amazing fresh local seafood.
Due to the remoteness of the property we had to be prepared food wise. Larger freezer would make life easier as there is only the tiny one in top of fridge. However this didnt detract from our stay. Thoughtful welcome gift of fresh local eggs & wine were much appreciated.
We will return
Just returned from Katie's cottage. The cottage is fantastic, modern and well kept. Wi-fi, TV, even an iPod. Underfloor heating was marvellous and lovely shower room. Lots to do even in such a remote location and was a wonderful break. Skye was amazing and will be stunning in summer months was quite misty but brightened up in the afternoon. Weather predictions were spot on. Not a lot if shops and the local one was closed most of the time so make sure you stock up before you go, you can't nip out for a loaf there. Highly recommended will be returning.
Spent a week at katies cottage. Lovely building and well appointed. Fairly recent refurb with very decent kitchen/dining area. Adjoining living room with wood burner. Upstairs two bedrooms.
Very quiet location. No traffic and almost silent at night. Much of skye closed during March but managed to get some walks in.
