Hotel is being improved but a bit to go. Nice garden but partly used for staff caravan, burning rubbish and closed sport centre.
Dining room has nice outlook over the water but breakfast menu is modest and younger staff need to pay more attention to guests though they mean well, perhaps a bit more training. Lounges are comfortable and fairly large. New bedrooms are very small for deluxe, have a nice view but the large old furniture barely fits. There is a shortage of accommodation in the area and the location is potentially good. Try a visit in a couple of years.

Room Tip: Make sure it is big enough. Deluxe seems to mean recently refitted, nice view but no room for chairs or suitcase stand.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in May and had a wonderful stay. We had a good sized room which was a mixed of old and new furniture that shouldn't have worked but it really did. The bathroom had obviously been refurbed recently and was very modern. Only slight moan was the shower could be stronger it was a bit pathetic.
We had breakfast and dinner on our stayed and the breakfast was delicious especially the Scottish Breakfast. The dinner wasn't so good. Hearty portions were perfect for us as we did a lot of hiking but it wasn't refined cooking. I do however recommend the haggis and neeps!
The waiting staff especially the girls were absolutely lovely. They engaged in conversation with us and offered help at all times. The two Aussies and the Scottish burnette were efficient, warm and friendly.
The view from the decking is stunning and we spent a good deal of time on the private inlet on the Loch, idllyic!
Definitely recommend this place

Having stayed at this hotel 2 years ago when we enjoyed our stay, on this occasion we found the standards/cleanliness of the hotel had fallen in this period. Having booked a Superior double/twin room, after viewing photos of the room on booking.com our expectations were of a larger room than a Standard double, as previously booked. This was not the case and the room was small. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was not working and loosely held in place with isolation tape, resulting in wet towels for the morning shower. The evening meal was edible but not value for money. The full breakfast was barely warm and the egg not fully cooked and inedible. On departure, we mentioned the misleading description/photo of the 'Superior' room but apart from an apology we were not offered any explanation. Overall very disappointed on this occasion and will not be returning. The dining room staff were extremely friendly and pleasant but without the back up of hotel management this is not sufficient to warrant a further visit.

We are sincerly sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, we try very hard to see we deliver high standards always. I have looked at the towel rail and found that the switch was outside bathroom was not ON. Please if you would like to call the hotel to discuss any of your queries.

We arrived just in time for dinner, Our room was no. 19 Lochy Suite - it looked brand new, clean, great attention to detail - 2 tv's and a lovely bathroom with double sinks :)
The standard of dinner was way above the 3 star rating (and I'm in the service industry) well presented, delicious and reasonably priced - I did feel that the cutlery was a little cheap for the quality of the food (well I had to find something to complain about!!).
The hotel is, as others say, old school charm. The service we received was very good, polite engaging, attentive and way beyond the boys 17yrs!
We booked through Highland Welcome for £115 for a £155 room and then got upgraded. The place was full which is a testament to it's value for money.
The scotish breakfast was more than ample and there was a good selection of fruit, cereals, pastries, yogurts, pastries and toast. The staff at breakfast were equally good, smiley, polite and attentive - just what you need in a morning. Check out was easy and a casual chattiness was lovely, definately recommend this.
We only stayed 1 night en route to fish locally and the stunning view was great to wake up to - with large plasma wall mounted tv to watch breakfast tv

Stayed in the Osprey Suite which is the top floor of a separate building - large seating area, amazing kitchen and then separate bedroom with ensuite. All modern and clean etc but the you get a massive (and I mean massive) private balcony literally a stones throw from Loch Lochy. Beautiful.

The kitchen is equipped with fridge, wine cooler etc so you could bring your own drinks but I bought a bottle of wine from the bar and took it up - a great hour, sat out on the balcony, soaking up the views. Btw - the kitchen also has washing machine, tumble dryer, two cookers, everything including the kitchen sink but no pots, pans or glasses so if you were planning on staying in then bring these.

Stayed on dinner, bed and breakfast rate (not advertised but did the deal over the phone) - no menu restriction so had a sirloin steak for my main of three courses - really good. All the food was excellent and the dining area in the main buiiding was lovely - don't know what people are on about saying it's tired, it isn't. The views were also excellent and plenty of space between tables.

Will definitely return.

The rate difference between this suite (and it is a suite) and normie rooms is like £50 per night - well worth it. Seriously, this suite is the best hotel "room" I've ever had!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the Osprey Suite. It is amazing.
