Reviewed September 13, 2012

The attention to detail at this B&B was impressive.
Excellent breakfast, quality fresh produce, attractive breakfast room with lovely tableware.
Everything here was perfect and the customer service was impeccable.

We have just stayed for 4 nights at Distant Hills guest house and we cannot recommend highly enough the service and customer care given by Peter and Leslie. The amount of thought and effort they put in to ensure you have a pleasant stay, is unsurpassed in our experience.
Our only complaint is that we were looking forward to some healthy walking and coming home a few pounds lighter but the fantastic breakfasts (not to be missed) put paid to this plan ;)

Hello Chris and Kaz
Thanks for coming and thanks for taking the time to write this review. It was a real pleasure to meet you both particularly because you always seemed in such good spirits even after climbing Ben Nevis.
We are glad you enjoyed your breakfasts which we do try hard to make special.

Take care and hopefully we will see you back again sometime when Kaz can conquer some other mountains!

We were walking the Great Glen, Fort William to Inverness, the first stop was tricky as the accomodation at Gairlochy was limited, we opted to stay at Distant Hills Guest house in Spean Bridge, 4 miles off route, not a lot in a car but on foot after 12 miles already quite a distance. The owners Peter and Lesley, offered to meet us at Gairlochy and drop us back on route the next day! Once at the Guest House we were not disappointed, the room was beautifully appointed, modern clean and comfortable, very nice touches including shampoo, soaps tea and coffee, not the usual packet stuff but top quality produce. The room had a nice en suite large shower and seperate WC. Peter offered to dry any of our wet clothing and instantly made us feel at home. The lounge area was fantastic, a lovely space with large comfortable sofa's and Sky TV. Wonderfull views into the garden and so peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was fantastic, none of the usual guest house offerings, instead a fantastic selection of quality food, well prepared and presented. They even prepared us a packed lunch, for a price but resonable and convienient. After breakfast Peter dropped us back on route as promised. We would and will visit distant Hills again and would recommend this guest house to anyone visiting this part of Scotland.

Room Tip: We had room 1 a twin room with nice large shower and seperate WC, very nicely decorated with lovely...

After my first day of walking the Great Glen Way, I was very happy to stay at Distant Hills in Spean Bridge. It's a little out of the way of Gairlochy (my walking day's destination) but they do offer to come pick you up. As I had walked for hours and it was starting to rain, I opted for this service :) But just as I was about to call, their neighbour spotted me entering the phone booth and offered me a ride... which was much appreciated.

Peter and Lesley were great hosts and helped with recommending and making dinner reservations in town. They also have a packed lunch service, which I gladly purchased for my next day's walk. The room had twin beds, was very nice, clean and comfortable. I had a pleasant view of the backyard/garden. Very quiet. Free Wifi. The bathroom was big, with plenty of hot water. I loved the attention to detail - including available toiletries.

After a hearty breakfast, Peter drove me back to Gairlochy to continue my Great Glen Way walking adventure. I would certainly recommend this B&B :)

Stayed here on short notice during a business trip. Owner could not be more helpful. Tea and cake on arrival, wifi available, room clean and everything needed.Out of the main drag so was quiet. Nothing was a problem for the owner. Good information book in the room.

After walking 18 miles from Ft. Augustus, we were anxious to get settled in for a good meal. We were greeted by Peter, who was warm, friendly and very accommodating. One of the best surprises from the guest house was this delicious tea cake in our room! Peter gave us great recommendations for dinner and saw to our every need.

The next morning he patiently helped us take photographs and even gave us a ride back to Gairlochy to continue our journey.

The gem of this place is the back yard. If you have time for tea and cakes have them there, it is beautifully landscaped and Peter and Lesley make you feel right at home.
