“Lovely bedroom, tiny bathroom”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

We stayed one night at this B&B. On the internet the room looked lovely; had a four-poster bed and was appealing. Reality set in when we had to use the tiny bathroom and shower area. The bedroom featured a TV with the smallest screen I've seen; looked more like a computer monitor. I had a difficult time shaving in the tiny lavatory. The best thing about this stopover was our evening meal at Russell's next door, a 5-star dining experience. Breakfast was very good, as were all the breakfasts we had at B&Bs in Scotland.

Thank you for your feed back we realise that the en-suite is small unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the size of this area, without ripping the room apart, that i'm not sure planning would approve off ! so we have to work with what we have, we pride ourselves on making sure the area is spotless, and that it has nice locally produced toiletries , there are plans to replace the television or computer monitor as you have called it, in the near future, but most people come on holiday to enjoy the area, more than watch television.

This is a really a lovely B&B incredibly well kept with this sense of traditional but new and spotless cleanliness that can only appeal. Friendly owners ready to help and offer suggestions for excursions and sightseeing. Great breakfast: genuine and hand cooked.

Thank you for a great nights stay. I was really impressed as it was my company that had booked myself and my partner in for the evening. The couple who own the guest house were friendly and we booked in before going to work that day. Our room wasn`t ready that did not matter as we were rushing to get to work. On arriving back at about 10pm and went to our room I was speachless the room was stunning only word I can mention for it with a 4 poster bed. The breakfast was delicious full scottish and not an ounce of grease to be seen . Would definately recommend this place and hope to book up sometime for a few days once again thankyou.

Room Tip: room 6 i think we were in the one with the 4 poster bed large and plenty of space oh and a small fri...

We had a very pleasant room at the back of the house, double en-suite and everything to a good standard. Breakfast was excellent with a lovely Full Scottish fry up as well as fruit and yogurt, nice to see fruit as we didn't get much in B and B's in Scotland. We walked to the Old Station restaurant, 5 minutes away, for an excellent eveing meal and they also have real ale so just the job.

Hi Moira,
Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed your stay with us we like to offer a good breakfast so that it keeps you going through out the day, we don't actually fry anything except of course the fried eggs, but we are pleased you enjoyed it, anyway.

Having walked from Fort William along the Caledonian Canal the guest house was the perfect location to stay for the night. The hosts were friendly and able to provide useful local information about local restaurants (decent meal at the Commando Bar in the hotel) and highlights. Although the room was small it was ideal for a weary hiker, comfortable, clean and quite. A refreshing sleep was complimented by a great breakfast to fuel another full day of travel.

Stayed here on the second night of our Great Glen Adventure picked up by our very friendly hostess at Gairlochy without any problems .Our room was a bit on the small side but perfectly clean and very comfortable with a lovely view of the mountains from the window. Good breakfast and perfectly timed lift back to our next start point. Ian recommmended we check out the "Fairy Wood" just 1 mile into our walk -well worth it if you like bonkers kitch! We looked around for 1 whole hour and could have spent longer - thanks Ian ( we probablly would have walked passed this without stopping). The Old Station Restaurant comes highly recommended, great food, surroundings and hosting.

Thank guys for your review we agree our rooms aren't massive, but we are just a Victorian house, we strive to make them feel homely and comfortable with the area we have, so after a days travelling, you can relax, glad you liked the Fairy wood we love it also and are glad its looked after and not destroyed. Each year it changes a little, with hard work from a local family, and recently new wood carvings have been added, which are wonderful.
