We stayed here in July (for our anniversary) for the third year running, and as usual were treated to what we consider Perfect Old Fashioned Service where the Guest comes first. Robert and Glen just seem to have it down to a fine art, Robert makes you feel so welcome and Glens food is to die for. As over 65's we have seen a lot of the world in nearly 50 years together, but few places excel at customer service as given by The Smiddy House. we hope to return for many years to come.

We had a lovely two day stay at Smiddy House. Evening meals and breakfasts were just perfection. Friendly warm welcome from all of the staff. Really comfortable room with fresh flowers.
Robert advised on a beautiful easy walk nearby. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and eat on our visit to Spean Bridge. Our visit to the Commando Memorial was an emotional affair that was made so much the better in such a friendly warm environment that the Smiddy has to offer. A big thank you to Robert, Glen and all the staff.

... in the area, by far. We were staying in nearby Fort William so didn't stay at the Smiddy House, but had a wonderful meal in their restaurant, Russell's. It wasn't just a meal out, it was a wonderful experience. We were warmly welcomed by Robert and enjoyed a drink in the delightfully decorated and comfortable sitting room, before taking our seats in the equally attractive dining room. The excellent, locally sourced, menu was mouthwatering and the wine list seductive, and we loved every last morsel of Glen's cooking - our figs with brie and avocado ice-cream, sea bass on a fantastic bed of puy lentils with chorizo, perfect Aberdeen Angus steak with all the trimmings, and scrumptious puddings of ginger and pineapple with toffee sauce and ice-cream, and out of this world cheesecake. Coffee came with delicious home made tablet (scottish fudge!) and we highly recommend you have a meal here.

You are greeted with such warmth at Smiddy House you know your stay is going to be comfortable. Well appointed rooms which are immaculately clean. Sherry and home made shortbread arrive shortly after you check in. Make sure you book dinner as the food prepared by Glen is some of the most delicious we have eaten anywhere. Breakfast is equally delicious served with chat and laughter by Robert. A charming find with charming hosts. Can't wait to return (with dog next time!)

Comfortable, clean, tidy, very nicely decorated rooms. Made to feel welcome and received first class service from all staff. Beautifully presented fresh flavoursome local produce very much enjoyed. It was a great pleasure to stay over for the two nights break. We did enjoy catching up with all the local news and spending time with friends & family in the area.
