“Off The Beaten Path But Worth The Effort To Get There”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

The Clan Cameron Museum is off the beaten path but we were so glad to find it. It's small by most standards but it's evident that it is lovingly maintained and cared for. Captivating exhibits about the Camerons. The gentleman working there was friendly. Peaceful setting. We recommend that travelers make the effort to visit.

“Good history of the commandos in Achnacarry”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

When you walk there you can almost feel the presence of the old commandos there. And on top, it is a very beautiful area with spectacular views!

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

We visited the museum on our return from a trip to Loch Arkaig, hoping to find the Jacobite gold ;-)

Achnacarry is less than an hour from Fort William and easy to visit if you find yourself there. Let's face it, the best thing to do if you find yourself in the Garrison is leave it..

It is located on the Clan Cameron Locheil estate. It is not objective history, but simply nostalgic clan propaganda, but non-the less interesting for that.

I bet this is the only place near here that you could find a photograph of David Cameron, displayed with pride.

So, well worth a visit. Probably won't take too long.
