“Super stay at Loch Shin”
Reviewed April 30, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

I was heading north for a weekend of hillwalking and found this little gem whilst browsing for somewhere to stay. I am not one for roughing it but, didn't want to stay in a hotel either as I just wanted to chill in my PJ's at the end of each day.

On arrival I was greeted by Tracey, who gave me my key and told me to let her know if I needed anything...that didn't happen. The pods are so well equipped, I couldn't have wanted for anything more. Ensuite facilities, including a fab shower...just what was needed at the end of a day on the hills. Microwave/grill, hob, fridge, dining table (with candle) all made self catering a great option too.

After dinner, I relaxed by watching some tv and the sheep in the field outside...they were very relaxing! The location of the pods is amazing, great views, peaceful environment but, with Lairg within easy reach if you did need something.

I had a rest day from the hills and took a wonderfully scenic drive across to Ullapool. The location is ideal for exploring in this area.

I loved my stay here...first time doing this sort of thing alone. If I find myself back in this area, it would be first on my list of places to stay!

“Very Impressed”
Reviewed May 19, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

The pods are a great size, very clean and everything you need inside. The views are stunning and the owner Tracey was lovely and was very welcoming and happy to help with anything.

Great location to be situated in being central to many of the popular areas.

Very good value for money.

Would highly recommend.

“Great Wigwams”
Reviewed August 17, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We had a lovely stay at the Loch Shin Wigwams - they are really spacious, loads of room for 2 of us and a dog. Really warm and cosy even in the thunder and lightning storm!
They were well equipped and spotlessly clean with great little en suite shower room.
Location is good for exploring the North Highlands - we had day trips to East and West Coast during our stay.
We didn't see the owner during our stay however she was really helpful and even posted us back a couple of items that we left behind!

“Fantastic Stay”
Reviewed July 7, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Just back from a fantastic stay in the Rowan Wigwam. The wigwams are so cute - really lovely. This isn't camping - it has all the home comforts you could want - even a little tv! We are 3 girls in our late 20s and were looking for somewhere to relax and explore and we got just that! The wigwam easily slept all of us comfortably and the bathroom was perfect. The wigwams are well looked after and there is a lot of attention to detail. All of the things included have been well thought-out. The views are stunning and it's lovely to be able to sit and see basically nothing but animals! We only saw Tracey when we contacted her looking for things and she was extremely helpful. The location is perfect if you want to explore the remote Scottish Highlands - we drove a lot and visited a lot of neighbouring small towns. All in all, a perfect few days and would definitely go back and recommend it to friends.

We stayed at Loch Shin Wigwams Friday-Sunday, its always great when you get to your location and its better than your expectations, the pods are immaculate and the owner obviously takes great care and pride in them, the outside of the pods are well landscaped, you have a firepit which doubles as a bbq, a picnic table and seats, inside the pods are compact but you have everything you need, 2 double beds one transforms into a sofa, a kitchen which has sink, hob, microwave, fridge and the cupboards are stocked with cutlery, wine glasses, pots and plates, there is a small dining table and chairs, heater and even a tv, the owner Tracey is great never met her lol she leaves you alone to enjoy your time, anything i needed i messaged her and it appeared promptly however she is also welcoming if you want to go up to the farmhouse and chat or have any queries well done Loch Shin Wigwams we will definitely be back and anyone booking will not be disappointed

“Excellent Dog Friendly Glamping”
Reviewed April 4, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Despite the weather throwing rain and high winds at us the cabins were warm and comfortable. Well equipped with microwave, fridge, ice box, hob and kettle as well as cutlery, plates etc. Very impressed with both the temperature and pressure of the hot water which meant an excellent en suite. Site now has some larger cabins which may suit family's as space with luggage is at a premium. Will definitely stay again.
