We stayed in the James suite. It has a lounge and an ensuite, and has a door overlooking the lovely garden, with a door leading into the kitchen.

The rooms were clean and light, and the wifi was working perfectly - something that has been a problem in some other places we have stayed in.

The kitchen is self service, which was excellent, and provides all the basics - from which we can help ourselves (milk, bread, fruit, cereals, yoghurt etc.). You can also keep your own food in the fridge, which is great, as we visited with our baby, who is a fussy eater, and only eats food from 'home'.

We had a lovely stay, it felt very private and had a very homely feel.

The only slight issues (which were not hugely important when considering the whole stay) were that people dont realise that there is a room leading off the kitchen - and someone had put a wash on in the evening (yes, you can use the washing machine if you need to as well) just as I was settling the children to sleep. And you can overhear people in the kitchen - but anyway, we felt very much at home otherwise.

I would recommend this guest house highly, particularly if you have family. The room and the lounge have a door which can be closed, and you can relax in the lounge part while the kids sleep and it also has a lovely garden leading off the bedroom, which the kids loved - so they were not stuck in the room all the time while we were at the guest house.

I would certainly visit again.

Me and my husband stayed at the guest house while in the area as we were going to see a show at the LG arena. (NIA). we had been given a free upgrade to the suite (which was lovely of the owner!) which consisted of a private lounge, bedroom and bathroom which had a powerful shower and jacuzzi bath. The decor and furnishing was really well done and it was clear that a lot of effort had gone into the appearance of the hotel, we had a tv in the lounge and a tv/dvd in bedroom, and our own patio doors leading to the communal garden and smoking area. from the bedroom we could enter the kitchen (communal-self service) which was well stocked and the welcome leaflet told us to 'help ourselves'. The leaflet also recommended the harvester restaurant which was a few minutes down the road on foot, which was a lovely place with excellent food and service, and the leaflet also listed bus times which was very helpful as we didnt want to drive to the LG. On our return after the show, the kitchen was being used and although the person there was very considerate of our room being right next door, you could hear everything and the door wasn't fitted tightly to the frame so you could clearly see the light around the door. if i had to find a fault, that would be it, but it didnt ruin our stay, all in all me and my husband were extremely impressed, the bed was very comfortable and the towels were thick and fluffy, it was spotless, and we would definatly be booking again if in the area!

We stayed at the James guest house, recently. We we're lucky to have been given the James suite, what a lovely room.
The room is entered through the guests kitchen, there is a bedroom with both a double bed and a single, bathroom is beautiful with a spa bath then to the front there is a private sitting room. The room was very nice. Only problem was when we went to bed, only to be awoken about 12.30 by other guests coming in, they talked in the kitchen for about 15 mins, then we were again wakened at 5.20am by other guests coming in after a joyfull night out, they went to bed about 6am. None of the other guests seemed to be aware of the bedroom just off the kitchen. Perhaps it would be an idea to make sure guests are aware that guests do sleep in the room just off the kitchen.

I stayed here whilst working around the Birmingham area.
The house is split into a downstairs flat consisting of two rooms and bathroom which is very nice. There is a shared kitchen and living room with television. Upstairs there are four individual bedrooms (some ensuite) and a shared bathroom.

Breakfast is self service with a good range of food, cooker, microwave all provided.

The house, located in a pleasant residential area is very clean, tidy and well maintained. I found it good to be able to cook for myself in the evenings and have the facilities of a normal house, makes a nice change from staying in a B&B.

Coleshill town centre is walking distance where there are plenty of amenities, pubs restaurants etc.

I would highly recommend this place for anyone working in the area for a period.

We were lucky to stay in the James Suite of the James Guest House. We are visitors from New Zealand and it is the best place we have stayed in the whole of England! To make it better, it was also one of the cheapest. From the James Suite we had easy access to the self service kitchen and communal living room, and if we wanted a bit more privacy, we had our own private living room with fireplace. The facilities were more than impressive. We could have stayed here forever.
