“Holiday stay for all ages”
Reviewed April 27, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

A lovely comfortable cottage with amazing river views. Pool, steam room, gym, games room and plenty of outdoor seating and grassed areas to enjoy, even a football pitch.

“excellent”
Reviewed April 19, 2017 for a stay in July 2016

Our last visit to the UK will always be remembered for our stay at the Stable Cottages before flying home to Australia. It was the ideal location to spend our final days. The facilities were many and all excellent and so relaxing. The hosts were always available for advice and assistance. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to the UK Many, many thanks to the Symonds family.

“Very comfy cottage”
Reviewed February 14, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Our cottage was extremely comfortable, warm, clean and exceptionally well equiped and was ideal for our needs of visiting family in Rochester only 15 to 20 minutes away. The owner's were very accomodating and helpful.

“Better than our first visit”
Reviewed January 3, 2017 for a stay in September 2016

We stayed here a couple of years ago and decided to come back in September for a mini break. The cottage was spotless and the weather was good ( which helped). I spent ages again watching the shipping on the river Thames and Estuary which can be easily seen from the cottages. The owner Mr.Simmonds helped start my wife's car one day which saves us waiting for the RAC. We used the pool twice and found it just right for a relaxing swim, it may not be " Olympic size" but certainly large enough given the number of cottages on this site. We hope to come back in 2017 for another week. The only negative comment ( no reflection on the cottages or owners) was some woman who seemed to be constantly arguing with her husband ( I assume). She was awful and gave me a growling look when I tried to say " morning" one day. Apart from her, the stay was better than before.

“Great Cottage - Very Comfortable”
Reviewed December 29, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We stayed in Cottage One for seven and a half weeks and it was very comfortable, a great size, clean, warm and very well equipped. It had everything that my wife, children and I needed. There was a separate utility room, with 2 washing machines, tumble drier, ironing facilities and additional freezer space which was very useful. Our dog equally was welcomed and it wasn't a problem to keep him on his lead in the grounds as there was a clear designated area to walk him. Outside the grounds there were fantastic walks where he ran for miles off the lead. The owners, Kirsty and Jason were really nice and helpful. I can see why their cottages were so busy as they offer a great standard of accommodation.

“WORST EXPERENCE EVER”
Reviewed December 17, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I booked to have an indoor pool this year, but i would not have booked this property due to the resricted hours on the use of the pool, every day without fail we had to find some one to unroll the cover. The illustration was false, as the impression in the photos showed a big pool but in reality any more than 5 swimmers and the pool was full. I am a diabetic and i needed the heating on at night it was not avaiable. Finally because we had not vacated on time the owner kept 20% of our damage desposit something i never had to pay before i felt this was a RIPOFF and an appalling greedy attitude of the owner. WE PAID A DAMAGE DEPOSIT AND DID NOT BREAK ANYTHING!!!!

Hi John, I am very sorry you feel you had such a bad experience. It is a shame you did not speak to us regarding these issues while we were here. We saw you on a daily basis when we uncovered the pool in the morning for you and you and your grandchildren seemed to be enjoying the pool. At the time, no body else staying here was using the pool so you did have it to yourselves during its opening hours of 10am-6pm every day. When you came around at 9.30pm and asked for your heating to be put on Jason came straight around and put it on for you (despite the fact it was August and the weather was warm) so I am not sure why you have stated it was not available - unless you mean it wasn't available until you asked? As explained to you in our email correspondence, you left the cleaners waiting at your door for over an hour whilst your family played in the games room. We do make it very clear that check out here is by 10am (this is explained to you upon booking, shortly before arrival and on signage in your cottage). This is to give us time to get the cottage clean and ready for the next guests that are arriving that day. You were charged a £20 late check out fee (as per our terms and conditions of hire that you agreed to) to partially cover the costs of the cleaners (it didn't completely cover the costs and certainly wasn't greed on our part) that we had waiting outside your door. We feel this is more than fair. Best regards, Kirsty

Our big cottage N°6 was great. Inside was warmly, comfortable, clean and with everything one needs. Very homely. Outside, the view was amazing with sunshine or the lights at night. The facilities were perfect (the swimming pool a real plus with the kids).
The owners were always responding quickly to our demands and very friendly and helpfull.
The 6 of us loved every minute of our stay.
