Away from the madding crowd of viking bay, Dumpton Gap offers a relaxed alternative, with a well stocked cafe, and plenty of stones and shells to collect.

Free parking on the road. Walk down ramp to the dog friendly beach at Dumpton Gap. Toilets and cafe facilities available. If the tide is out you can walk on the beach with your dog to Broadstairs. Once close to Broadstairs dogs must be put on a lead. You can also walk from Dumpton Gap to Ramsgate along the top road and coastal path.

Dog friendly was a bit off putting for us but the smell of the onions drew me in , Had a sausage baguette with onions and it was superb , Quite a choice for such a tucked away place only the locals and dog owners know it . Unsure of the opening times as of the nearby toilets . Free parking up at the top ,beware of steep uneven slope to get to the little café,

We were up early today i decided to get my master to take me to Dumpton gap for breakfast and a run on the beach. By 9 am the place was really busy, but didn't have to wait too long for our freshly cooked breakfast of 2 eggs, sausages, chips mushrooms and onion and a mug of tea. Reasonably priced. Got chatting to a couple who had come down from 7 oaks ( now 1 apparently) Staff were friendly in spite of being really busy. After breakfast had a lovely run on the beach and cooled off in the sea. (i am a very adorable Cavalier King charles spaniel.)

Living nearby this establishment could not be better located, perfect for a bit to eat or just that tea or coffee after a walk along the beach.
If you are not a dog lover this may not be the location for u, as with its dog friendly beach statues it obviously draws dogs and owners.
ROBS his name not sam !!
Highly recommend

Train to Dumpton Park Station, short walk to cliff path through park, down to Sam's Cafe on beach, clean toilets nearby, day on beach, dog loved the sea, lovely locals there as well as us day trippers. We both loved it. Booked train tickets already for next visit.

We walked down this beautiful beach nearly up to Ramsgate main sands, the view of the cliffs surrounding the beach was really impressive!

Dumpton Gap is only a short walk from Broadstairs town centre and train station. What is great about it, is that dogs are allowed on this beach all year, every hour of the day (other beaches in Broadstairs have restrictions especially during the period of May-September). During our visit there were several dogs swimming, jumping in and out of the water, running around..so much fun! Dumpton Gap is heaven for dogs and dog walkers. As mentioned, Broadstairs has several other beaches, therefore people who don't like dogs and want to spend time on a beach that is dog free, have plenty of nearby places to chose from.

A kind fellow dog owner in whitstable, knowing we weren’t locals recommended this amazing beach saying our dogs would love it and he was right! Beautiful sand, space to run and play, complete dog heaven. We walked to ramsgate and back and it was perfect. Check the tide times before you go as gather at high tide there is no beach at all. So beautiful and a lovely dog walk and people walk too!

Not a particularly well known beach except to locals and does get a bit over run with dog walkers at times but a lovely sandy beach with plenty of room for everyone and during the season a handy beach bar/cafe
