Visit Sam's bar that serve an amazing all day breakfast, fab baguettes, rolls, sandwiches and salads. A delightful bay that allows dogs and affords a walk to either Broadstairs or Ramsgate (tide allowing). Really friendly place on a lovely sandy bay, that embraces the sun on sunny day!!
Toilets located close by with baby change facilities.

Great place and left or right you can walk to Ramsgate or Broadstairs as long as the tide is not in - DG is a full tidal bay so you can walk your dogs along it all year through - its clean - sandy and they have a small shack serving snacks during the season -

Whenever we visit Broadstairs we almost invariably take a stroll along to Dumpton Gap. It's easily reached by a moderate walk along the cliffs from Broadstairs, or along the concrete apron from Broadstairs beach (except in bad weather/high seas). The slope down from the cliffs is very steep and not ideal if you have mobility problems. At the bottom of the slope are very basic toilets, which were more rundown than filthy. There's cafe that was modernized a few years back (I miss the old style cafe/shop with it's bucket and spades and assorted beach goods, but the new one does offer a greater range of food). The cafe makes it a good place to stop if you're walking from Ramsgate to Broadstairs (you'll need to walk through the park if the tide is in!).

It's a small sheltered sandy beach, although there are flint/chalk rocks around. It's fairly shallow and narrow enough to allow parents to keep a good eye on children. It's dog friendly, and as one of the few dog friendly beaches in the area very popular with dog owners. If you don't like dogs this isn't the beach for you.

There's an old fashioned charm about the place, and it clearly has a community of regular visitors, including the usual mahongany tanned retirees.

Dumpton Gap beach is a yellow sand bay framed by chalk cliffs, with a small (seasonal) cafe, some rather basic toilets and a few beach huts. On a sunny day at low tide it is heaven. Mid way between Broadstairs and Ramsgate, at low tide you can walk from one to the other on golden sand twixt cliffs and rock pools, and from Louisa Bay near Broadstairs to the start of Ramsgate Main Sands the beach is dog friendly all day and all year round. When the tide is in, the walk along the clifftop lawns and through George VI Park is great too. Consequently, Dumpton Gap beach and the cafe with its terrace on the promenade are great for families for whom a day at the beach without their four legged friend is no fun at all. Thanet dog owners seem a very friendly and responsible bunch, the beach and the area when we have been has been very clean, and the tide washes the beach twice a day. It really is great to have a dog friendly beach in a nice location, with amenities and cliff top parking. The only warning is that the path down from the cliff top is very steep. However, there is a flat walk along the promenade from Broadstairs.

My family and I very much enjoyed the time spent at this lovely bay. Very easy to park, although the walk down to and up from the bay is steep it's worth it. Great cafe, food and beverages are good. We didn't come across one unfriendly dog infact our children enjoyed playing with them. Perfect bay to visit if you want to escape the hustle of Viking bay. We can't wait to go back.
