just round the corner from Viking Bay perfectly positioned for all the bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and attractions Broadstairs has to offer,The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable, have stayed in them all over the years. The family room is particularly good value and very nice having a double bed then two singles in an adjoining room.Nice breakfast served in the lovely sunny dining room by Tony the proprietor who is very accomodating. I have stayed here with friends, family and my husband, all of them enjoyed it too.

Room Tip: all are good though the family room excellent value for 3/4 people

A friend recommended The Viking, having stayed a few weeks previously "en famille". My partner and I decided to stay for a night on her recommendation, but found that our stay wasnt quite as marvellous as promised. The decor is incredibly chintzy in a style which I thought had died out in the 70s. But our biggest disappointment was the bed. Barely big enough for one, my partner gave up halfway through the night and found it more comfortable to sleep on the floor! We laugh about it now, but it wasn't quite so amusing at the time. So, if you're booking as a couple, maybe best to request the twin room!

All absolutely fine. A bit unremarkable like many British B&BS.

This was a last minute booking for us so we were dubious as to why, after ringing 3 hotels & 10 b&bs, this was the only property with a room still available! However we were pleasantly surprised to find it was very clean with a nice fresh smell. Bedrooms have flat screen tvs & an ensuite shower room. Great location only 2 minutes away from the sea front & all amenities. Parking is available directly outside. Tony wasn't there to give us the keys when we arrived but he had given us instructions on how to find the key to let ourselves in (which was simple enough!) Breakfast was early (8am-9am) but I think that's the same for all the guest houses in the area.

The Viking Guesthouse used to be one of the best guesthouses in Broadstairs, but sadly things have started to decline lately. The lampshades need renewing as they are evidently worn out and shabby and the guest information pack definitely needs updating asit dates from 2004 and some of the attractions and restaurants no longer exist!!!. Breakfasts could be better too, mine as mine was dried up.
Would I go again, that needs thinking about, as there are other guesthouses in Broadstairs with better amenities.

We spent 5 nights in the Viking Guest House with our two children (ages 3 and 6). We had the family room – an interconnected double bedroom and twin bedroom with our own bathroom (with shower and bath). The rooms had plenty of space and storage. The beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. Both rooms were equipped with TVs (which was handy with the children!).
The breakfasts were great. Tony was very attentive, down to putting a highchair out ready for our daughter at breakfast, and even laying the breakfast table with all the teapots and cups etc out of her reach. There was plenty of choice with cereals (lots), toast, fruit salad and a lovely full English breakfast. (Bottled water and tea/coffee-making facilities were provided in each of our bedrooms, and the children appreciated the complimentary biscuits!)
Another great thing about the Viking is the location. With small children on their first beach holiday it was wonderful being just a minute's walk from the beach, bandstand and prom. There are lots of lovely restaurants also within walking distance for evening meals. The guesthouse is, perhaps, ten minutes' walk from the station (we don't drive) so it was easy to get to.
Booking and payment were all very efficient.
Highly recommended. We will definitely stay here again.
