This little quiet unassuming back water of a museum is a box of delights. Step inside the old cottage and you step back in time. Lovingly restored and supported it really should be on your list of must does whilst visiting the town. A little treasure tucked away.

“A step back in time”

What a wonderful little museum! It captures the true feel of Victorian life in a rural/coastal tow with 'hands on' experience of daily chores.

“Interesting museum”

This is a great little museum you have to go to believe there is so much to see inside and outside although it looks very small from the outside it's like the tardis I would recommend.

“Lovely way to spend a couple of hours”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We did two museums on the same day, we were not sure what to expect with this museum however it was quite pleasant. The entrance fee on the day we went was just one pound but even if you went on full price day it is only three pounds which bears no resemblance to the information that can be gleaned. We thought it might only have been about the pottery but if you take it all in it has many interesting things about where they lived which is not the museum itself. Access is quite good and parking is only a stones throw away but wheelchair access would not be possible in the upper rooms. The lady we saw was very informative and made a point of coming to tell us something about the lives and rooms and things which were on display before having to dash back to the shop part. The pottery story was quite interesting and when you read about it then it is a shame as to how it ended. Nice hour to two hours with some things that you can touch.
