i like freeport, i live just up the coast at filey, and like a ride out to hornsea probably because i used to live there and i like sullivans and the town itself. i know there are a lot of empty shops which is a pity. i remember 30 years ago all the attractions like the car museum and the vast play area for kids, but i still like to come. the farm shop is good and the facilities. still worth visiting, i do hope it does not close.

I have been brought up in Hornsea and I always visit the Freeport. However its very poor now and not a lot to offer the shopper. I only visit because I am in the area. Have been to a lot better and the only place I like to visit is the Hallmark shop but this time that was pretty poor. Shall not visit again in a hurry.

Perhaps it is a sign of the recession but to describe the place as a shopping centre is misleading.

It is more of a ghost town with almost half the units empty, which is a shame as it is a much better laid out shopping complex than most.

Walking around it is deceiving as many of the shops look occupied but they are being used to advertise the few outlets which remain.

The only redeeming feature was the farm shop which had a good range of local produce.

It is probably best summed up when I say the busiest unit seemed to be Poundstretcher.

It's a shame as the place looks to have potential but frankly is not worth the time or petrol.

Shopping wise not good but the whole complex is spotless with well tended flower beds and amazing hanging baskets,it was quite busy though when we visited but I believe they just call to pass time and not to shop, there are still a few empty shops and some seem to be run from a shop located close by so in theory they too are closed.

The one positive is the free hire of wheelchairs if needed from the mobility store on site, that aside apart from the overall lay out of the place and the setting there is little to get exited about. Many empty units, those that are open are the predictable ones and in August there was a Christmas shop, If able you will walk through it in 10 minutes, Clark's Village in Street spoils you I suppose this is an average alternative.
