The London Inn at Morchard Bishop is my family local pub...
The food is always good and comes in BIG Portions.
My wife and I hate going elsewhere these days as not a lot of places
match up for supplying regular Copious amounts of Good Tasty Grub.

I would Highly Recommend The Steak and Ale Pie for Carnivores
and the
Filled Yorkies for Vegetarians and any other Mushroom Lovers

Good food, all freshly home cooked, big selection and best vegetarian choice I've seen anywhere in a long time. Be warned the portions are huge! There were 4 of us. We shared 2 starters, had a main each and shared 2 desserts which we probably shouldn't of had but the choice was too tempting!
Decor a little dated but don't let that put you off.
The landlady is a real character! Will definitely be coming back!

The food is wonderful. Huge plates of food, beautifully cooked, good simple British pub grub, all cooked on the premises. The pies are properly made, no puff pastry lids here, no shortcuts, and all very good value. The only downside is it's a bit dark and the decor is very dated. The landlady is always a bit grumpy, but never rude, it's just her way.

Thank Andy K

The London Inn is a traditional old beamed village pub with a typical laid back traditional atmosphere where everyone seems to know everybody else. Vera the publican ensures that everybody is made welcome whoever they are. The place is seldom empty and seems to be the unoffical village centre. Morchard Bishop is a remote Devon village in the heart of farming country which has retained its visual appeal. There are a surprising number of old thatched cottages together with a number of newly built properties, a village PO and store, a church, a chapel and a school. The ancient Two Moors Way runs through the village and this brings wlkers into the pub for refreshment. The London Inn serves a good range of traditional menu dishes and specials at very fair prices. The meals are excellent - well prepared, all fresh vegetables and massive portions. There are also 'Special Puds' for dessert if you still have the space. WARNING - if you are a walker you may need a period of rest after a meal like this. There are also light meals available. I strongly recommend the London Inn for an evening meal or a blowout lunch. Families are welcome. NB Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones seen eating here recently
