A family group of all ages were staying at the nearby High Tor Hotel, (food and service there was atrocious), so descended on the County and Station for a pub meal - which is exactly what we got!
The two gentlemen at the bar could not have been more welcoming and we were able to sit as a family, tables moved together and high chair promptly provided for the youngest. A round of drinks later and the starters were served, followed in what seemed to us a reasonable amount of time. OK possibly the portions could have been a little more generous (three strapping sons-in-law with big appetities in tow) but were realistically priced.
This was not haute cuisiune, nor did it pretend to be. Pub grub pure and simple with a price tag to match. Whilst out and about during the course of our three day visit, we noticed a steady stream of diners outside the pub all of whom seemed to be enjoying the hospitality of theCounty and Station pub.
